On October 12, Frontiers Music will release the 24th studio album of Nazareth with Tattooed On My Brain. This new album will feature new music sung by the new vocalist, Carl Sentance, who replaces Dan McCafferty. McCafferty had left the band due to health issues but gives his ‘thumbs up’ for the new singer. Of course, only Pete Agnew remains from the classic lineup of the glory years. Manny Charlton left in 1990, and Darrell Sweet died in 1999. With McCafferty out as of 2013, there’s not much left of the classic band. A single, “Pole To Pole” is available (hear below). (The delivery is good. They worked hard to attempt to replace McCafferty without stealing the legacy of his vocals.)

Tattooed On My Brain will be released on CD, DD, and vinyl LP.

I listened to the new song and it sounds really good. I really like Nazareth but only have 1 album they released after the 80's, The Newz, which I think is really good. are any of the bands other albums released after the 80's as good or better than The Newz?

No Dan Mcafferty, or Manny Charlton, no thanks. They shouldn't call themselves Nazareth anymore.

I have mixed feeling about this. I am hearing this song for the first time and I love it. However, I don't consider this group Nazareth.

    Yes.

I think No Jive, Move Me and Boogaloo are all comparable - better or not is arguable - to Newz.

I am a big McCafferty fan so all Naz albums are worth owning, to me. Plenty of their albums are spotty at best. But there are usually between 1-4 good to great song/performances from Dan on each album that earn its' place on my shelf.

Well, as Vaughan said, Manny Charlton has been out of the band for nearly thirty years, Darrell Sweet is no longer with us and Dan McCafferty has given the new line-up his blessing - which is good enough for me.

Carl Sentance is a fine singer and nothing like Dan, which is an interesting move. I used to like his Eighies band, Persian Risk. Their single Too Different, Two People should have been a smash hit!

Wow, I had low expectations for this album but I like it a lot. Some of the songs sound very "Nazarethy" but with a different singer. And I like his voice unlike the previous guy (Linton) they got to try to "replace" Dan. Whether it is "Nazareth" or not I don't care, I like it.

Nazareth is a band that I'd given up on. But HOLY CHIT this is good rock music. I agree that they probably should have used a new name, but I bought it based on the two songs here... and brother, I am glad that I did.

    count me in !

    Nazareth's classic 70s recordings,
and some 80s too, are among my
    most treasured vestiges of Hard
    Rock's vital infrastructure. Setting
aside for now the fact that Pete
Agnew is the sole remaining member
from the Naz of glory, I rather like the
sound of "Pole To Pole"; it doesn't
    have that so-called "2.01K" production
I dislike so much, it isn't so clichéd
as to be a pastiche for their moniker's
sake, the new singer is quite well
suited to their sound, and, well,
quite frankly the tune rocks and
    even does the Nazareth name
    justice . I need to be careful here;
so often a song catches my attention
right off the bat only to quickly lose
my interest - I call it "flash in the pan
    syndrome". "Pole To Pole" didn't
    exactly have me doing somersaults
on the first listen though, so thats a
good sign. It carried just enough
intrigue to bring me back for a few
more spins - another good sign.
I love the fact that there is actually
a band from the 70s still at it with
a fire in their belly that isnt trying
so hard to appeal to the 2.02K
audience that they lose track of
who they are and what drew their

fans in in the first place.

I wonder if Joni Mitchell is still a
    fan?
    :D

T.O.M.B. is a great track, not at all
what I was half-expecting, so good
    on the Naz.

I'm somewhat in agreement that this
    band isn't Nazareth.

Could they have gotten away with

    calling themselves ..
    .. 'Agnew Day Dawning' ?

"Silent Symphony" is a pretty killer
track, imo. Three songs and I'm sold.

I'm off to the store to buy the new CD
    today ! Recruiting Carl Sentance
was a black ops move - Persian Risk
are highly revered to this day.
