It IS Paul on the "ahhs"!!!

 

Paul and Linda are also in Neil's "Year Of The Horse" film (directed by Jim Jarmusch). They are backstage in some of the footage at one of Neil's concerts in the south of France.

 

Neil Young never recorded with any Beatle which was kinda odd seeing that Neil was a very good friend of Linda McCartney and then with Paul. Had Linda lived I think something musical (studio wise) may have happened but at least they have done some live things which have all been wonderful. The others in the CSN camp are almost equally elusive of any studio collabs apart from Stephen Stills and Ringo who have done studio work on each others records a number of times going back to 1970ish. David Crosby was at a Sgt Pepper session or two and also at an 1966 US Beatles press conference but nothing musical (on record at least). George Harrison has made it painfully clear over the years how much he hated Neil Young's style of music so no surprise they never got together apart from the Bobfest live show where Neil stole the entire show from everyone including George and even Bob (IMHO).

One time when I was touring the R&RHOF they had a telegram that McCartney sent to Neil telling him how much he enjoyed Live Rust.

And in reply, Neil sent Paul a telegram:

Pegi and I have been listening to Back To The Egg over and over; side two could have used a little more work.
