The looming tower of Neil ...
Well, a picture may be worth a thousand words but its not worth a thousand sounds, at least not yet ...
"Soon oh soon the light
Pass within and soothe the endless night
And wait here for you
Our reason to be here."
From Yes "Relayer" The Gates of Delirium - Soon
So far the Archives have been worth 2,000 posts.
To answer a question from the previous thread, the Blu-ray will have the highest quality sound available for the Archives of any of the various editions. This has previously been stated to be at 24 bit/192 kHz in some lossless form on Blu-ray. PCM, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD MA are all possibilities. Knowing Warner though, unless Neil himself requests otherwise, the audio will be in Dolby TrueHD.
Here's to a thousand more.
date slide again
Has anyone noticed that Amazon had a release date of Feb that has now disappeared?
How many people have died waiting for this?
Just for laughs spincds.com now lists the release date as May 4th:

Too many--FAR too many....
Since expressions of anger, bitterness & disappointment don't faze Neil Young, maybe we should try the strategy that appears to be working for Dave Clark's fans(Since Clark will soon relent and give his fans the CD's that they want):
Let's quietly walk away, stop caring and have the internet go near-silent concerning Young's ill-fated CD/DVD/Blu-Ray project.
For the public to become apathetic and disinterested is not what Young wants.
Buddy/pal/amigo...lose that chip on your shoulder. The wait is frustrating but It'll be worth it.
What I'm suggesting is that we collectively(the audience) try an all-new approach:to quietly, apathetically walk away. No emotional fireworks. No nothing. Stony silence.
I'm with Phil on this. Neil can keep them locked up for all I care anymore after all the time he has teased us with their release. I have made it this far without them, I can make it the rest of the way.
Good luck with that.
I predict when the "Neil Young announces upcoming 10 disc Archives release on Blu-ray Part 13" thread is started this will come out.
do we have a release date yet?
Neil probably has no clue people are so worked up over this.
He probably figures people have real problems to worry about.
I'm in! You start...
This I gotta see....
So let me get this straight. 128 songs on 10 blue-ray discs. That's 13 songs per disc. Each disc can hold 50 gigs so the audio portion might take up 2 gigs. The rest will be video (concerts, films, pictures etc.) With BD Live updates possible. This and a undoubtably nice book for $400?
I'm a fairly big Neil fan and not a poor person but I'm gonna take a pass on this deal.
That's a start!
Love Neil Young, but who the **** has a blue ray player? Not me, nor does anyone I know. Should have stuck with a format that is more accessible. Guess I'll just buy the vinyl. Besides, I'm not waiting around for my favorite lp 'tonights the night' to be released on part II. I've heard Neil was a vinyl buff, so how come he couldn't just do this on vinyl?
and he'd probably be shocked to read the contents, anger, hatred, disbelief, abandonment and rage posted about him in the now 3 part thread on his lifetime archival series, which as he's still "alive" isnt even done yet...
Does it matter?
