on or about Nov. 2nd, 17 years after the original release of Harvest Moon.

Where's Toast? And is this what was called Harvest Moon Live a year ago?

well the title alone has me roped in. One of my top 5 NY titles - and a great follow up to Journey Through The Past on the Massey Hall disc! now if he does a live hi-res Someday I might explode!!!

So now the question must be dealt with.
Is anyone going to buy these because one would expect that they will show up in later Archives sets assuming that there will be more Archive sets.....

    My brain already hurts.
It's too early for another set of grousing NYA threads, so let's don't.
    Sorry I brought it up.

I personally would get it because it's gonna be good.

Dude, by time the Archives reach '92 I'll be old and gray. I'll climb that hill 20 years from now when I get to it!

Keep 'em coming, Neil! I want new Neil to buy every 3 months!

This one is kind of a surprise to me mainly because it is from 1992. After the first few Archives Performance Series releases, I thought he might continue in roughly chronological order instead of jumping way ahead in years. Well, it's Neil.....and no one can predict anything about what he will do.

    archives extra downloads list

Has someone made a list of all the downloads so far. I just bought a blueray player and I'm the fence about the Neil Young set.

and that's a really flimsy setlist given the songs he was playing live at the time.

My only complaint about this one is that it will be the third solo acoustic release in a row for this series (fourth if you count the Riverboat disc). I've never been too much of a fan of just the solo acoustic stuff (not that it's bad, just nowhere near as interesting as everything else he's done).

I like the cover (except the handwriting font they used...I'd prefer real handwriting). I'm not a big enough fan of the Harvest Moon stuff to buy this, though!

Wow, beautiful art! I agree with the whole "will anyone really buy these knowing they'll be included in a future Archives set", so it's probably clever that he released one clearly not from the next volume, or possibly even the one immediately after...

That said, while I love this era, and these songs, it's certainly not my favorite or what I would've been the most excited to see released. I guess he wanted to focus specifically on the HM tunes (and if these are all from the 'pre-tour' he really wasn't playing many non-HM tunes), though it would've been nice to include the banjo version of 'Silver & Gold' which was technically a 'new' song at that point (although not really at all, it seemed like it was bound for 'Harvest Moon' during this era). Then again, that banjo 'S&G' is kind of a drag.

    Still...beautiful artwork. Now where's Toast? :D

I agree that it would've been cool to include some of the non-Harvest Moon songs he was playing at those shows. I saw one of the shows (Feb. '92), and he was also throwing in acoustic versions of Cowgirl In The Sand and Down By The River.

Now I gotta go buy Harvest Moon! :D Or not ... (I've never heard the whole album, just the title track).

Granted, I did hear the rehearsal take of Words before I ever heard the Harvest LP version, and that didn't scar me ... :shh: I think I will be OK ...

Just glad there is more new NY for the xmas season. Keep them coming!

I'm surprised nobody's speculated on what the nine APS releases between Massey Hall and this are gonna be. ;)

No Ducks show - I bet they didn't record them
I'm guessing CSNY '74 will be released seperately to the Archives

One of my favourite Neil albums. Such a Woman and War of Man are great, underrated songs. Can't wait for this.

There was Ducks material recorded. You must do a little research :)

Neil Had a band in 1984 called Crazy Hores? :D

There's been no Trans material released officially on cd...1982 Trans Band on DVD and Solo Trans 1983 on vhs/laserdic though.

Looking at the back cover, it is a bit light isn't it. I totally agree, there's no reason why it shouldn't include the non-Harvest Moon songs.
    Bummer.
I saw both Neil Harvest Moon shows in Jan 92 at the Paramount in Seattle.
Short but awesome and yes he did CITS and DBTR plus an absolutely killer version of Don't Let It Bring You Down.
The CD of Harvest Moon was let down for me as the solo versions of the songs were far better, imo.
