    Whoever said that is lying.
No one walked away from Grundman Mastering with the source material.

    No one.

Unless there is a detailed, sourced reference to proclaim such a claim...I wouldn't believe anyone but Chris Bellman or Neil himself...or Neil's studio guys.
By the way...why hasn't a high-resolution (24/192) version of this album been released? Everyone says "It's only 16/44.1!"
But...o wise Wikepedia states "1970s-era analogue equipment was used instead of digital recording to achieve a "warmer" feel."

If that's the case...what's all the chatter about "16/44.1"? Was it recorded to tape? Or to a digital workstation (circa-1992)?

I just received this in the mail today:
Neil Young Harvest Moon 2PC on ImportCDs
Has the RSD and “first time on vinyl in the U.S.” stickers.
Chris Bellman deadwax etching On side D.
Importcds.com has a good price on NY Psychedelic Pill also, my order shipped was around $55, I think that’s almost a bargain for the 2 albums.

    It’s a double Lp.

That must be for a double CD, clearly a double LP would be 2PVCs.

When Neil started recording to digital in the early 80's, he used a vintage tube mixing board and vintage tube mics.
I wouldn't be surprised if he continued in this fashion for many years.

"Everybody's Rockin'" was the first digital album he did and I was always lead to believe that he didn't go back to Analog recording until "Sleeps With Angels".

I believe he said in Waging Heavy Peace that he returned to analog for Mirror Ball.

I like the Mirror Ball LP with Pearl Jam. I reckon it would sound really good reissued and cut from the tape across 2 LP’s. Probably Chris Bellman would recut it as he seems to be doing them and cut the original.

My pressing is perfect. No distortion whatsoever.
I can also add that it sounds far better than the original vinyl release I had (and have now sold !)
Everything breathes better and is much clearer, whilst being weightier too.
Neil’s vocals in particular sounded relatively “hazy” on the original when compared to the new double LP,

Here's what I wish was the industry standard:
When an album that was originally recorded to digital is re-cut for a vinyl remastering...I wish the artist would go back into the studio and remix a fresh 2-track master with the original compression "peeled away", or somehow lessened.
I realize this could get expensive, but if the artist is wealthy and cares about what fans are hearing...in the long run, it might not be that big of an expenditure. Costly? Yes. Millions? I doubt that...not for just one album.

If someone could comment on the non limited version released today that would be great!

Assume it will be the same, but you know where "assuming" sometimes gets you.

I'm biding my time and will grab this at some point, when the price is "right".
