Do you really think this is the case if it is an original album and there is no option? I can understand if it is a re-release that some people only go for all analogue, but if there is no option available?
Yes, I've seen people on various forums saying they will only buy all analog vinyl. Some people see no benefit of having digital on vinyl. There are also those who will only buy digital vinyl if the CD version is badly compressed/brickwalled.
Might pick up a few more then. Went to ebay and it turned out cheaper to order from USA than pick them up here, since I'd have to travel now to browse through LP racks.
Not to be a jerk, but what is your source for this? Or am I missing something that makes you yourself someone with this knowledge?
The poster was Chris Bellman, the vinyl mastering engineer who worked on this release. So we are getting it straight from the horse's mouth.
I got this yesterday and overall everything is great, but there's some brief distortion at a couple points on The Old Country Waltz. Can anyone tell me if this is on the tape or if I have a bad pressing?
My wife got me the LP for Christmas- haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but the packaging is nice. The On The Beach inspired lyric poster is a nice touch.
I'm guessing it's a defect then. If it were on your copy you'd definitely know what I was talking about. Good thing Barnes & Noble has easy returns.
