i'm curious how it'll be positioned within the archives. is it one of those special edition, unreleased albums or is it one of the regular volumed discs within the era? hopefully more info comes out soon!!!

It's curious to me. Neil Young is an artist the lives in the US, possibly his biggest fan base. Why would news like this be leaked half way round the world

It could be it's own disc in the archives, but I think it won't be included, not in the main track list anyway given all these songs are likely recorded elsewhere. It would be cool in they were in the timeline portion of the Blue Ray.

I hope they don't edit out the between Song sounds and just play it as one complete tape rolling all the time. Based on Neil's description of the sessions.

1,3 and 8 are probably the same versions as on Rust, Hawks and Decade respectively. Pocahontas probably without overdubs. Campaigner with a omitted verse.

Yeah, I'm with you, I too wish they were longer like the tour versions!

Seems like a complete "Indigo" album would be a good idea. This is partial, and seems to include non-Indigo material. At this point, I'll take what I can get. I wonder what this means for other possible releases, such as the original "Chrome Dreams" and "Homegrown".

The idea that Neil is making new compilations of old material doesn't totally sit well with me. But again, I'll take what I can get.

I really didn't enjoy that concert! The only time I've seen Neil, at Newcastle in England. Found it tedious and not powerful sounding, which surprised me. I was never expecting and didn't want a 'hits' set, but I didn't expect so little in a 2 1/2 hour set. I don't mind a long Neil and Crazy Horse extended jam, but not another, then another, then another, all based around less than classic material.

This isn't a compilation. And I doubt any of these recordings have been previously released. This is a session, one night of, Neil sitting down and playing 9 songs(I mean 10) in a row. In his words "only stopping for booze, weed and cocaine".

Not sure what his original intention was with this recording?
Maybe just to make a tape. I sure hope he's done more tapes like this throughout his career. All the tunes were unreleased at the time of the recording if that means anything. But I take Neil's words to mean it's one, continuous recording.

I hope Pocahontas is a different take from the on Rust Never Sleeps. Thats probably my favorite Neil Young song. MY GOD IM EXCITED! please God let this be true!!! I hate Neil for doing this to us. That old bastard. I love him.

I'm pretty sure Pocahontas on RNS is a 1978 live recording with overdubs.

I'm pretty sure the only track on side one of RNS that is a studio cut is Sail Away which was a Comes a Time outtake
