I agree. I’d accept solo acoustic from decades other then the 70s but there 100% needs to be more electric releases first
I was at a Solo Trans show in Detroit. I'd love to hear that tour again. One of the first big artists to do something at a show or with their career that I didn't expect or really understand at the time (I was 17). Others around me were griping during the first set. I was pretty fascinated by the experimental attitude and thought, "Let the guy do what he wants." That attitude has defined much of my musical adventurism throughout my life. Good ol' Neil!
Neil certainly has a wealth of material to draw from. I buy this kind of stuff - most of which I already have boots of - but not his most recent releases which do nothing for me. I hope he ramps up the pace of them to at least 4 to 6 per year which is closer to what is coming out of the Grateful Dead arena. There's only a certain percentage of us buyers who are going to buy these, and it's not anywhere nearly as high as what it would have been back in the day.. He should enjoy doing this and seeing the fans enjoy them while he is still able to take part in the process while remembering that so many in his inner circle have gone on to the next life.

I'm INCREDIBLY excited for this. The Joel Bernstein Tapes were my soundtrack for a huge period of my life.
Earth is ORS 047. And Odeon/Budokan is supposed to be part of the Special Release Series, if I may believe messages from the past.
I wish we could get something from the early nineties Crazy Horse “Weld” era that includes a more complete live representation of “Ragged Glory” (which I’ve never really thought was recorded or mixed properly). Seriously, bring on Weld 2 - with better mixes. I’d rather have that instead of like a third of the planned releases outlined here.
I think 7.5 will be Boarding House. And 11.5 will be Live Freedom but I hope there's room for a Lost Dogs/Restless release too although someone else posted in a reply to me here that there probably were no good recordings from that tour. For the rest I sure hope volumes 10, 13, 15 and 21 will come true.
i hope for 21 too. the electric band tour was when i saw NY live. selfishly i hope he puts out the toronto show i went to.
IIRC hitchhiker sold pretty well. Maybe better than quite a few of the new releases in recent years. Possibly commercial realities are becoming important and NY is cherry picking some of the more palatable acoustic material to kick off NYA.
Well, yes and no. You should turn your lovelight up high and give that a listen in a high resolution format - vinyl or digital - and remember to stay grounded.
There is years and years of material to be released. I am grateful that Neil has found his medium of choice and that I am young enough (34) to hear it all eventually. I realise many of these are just added on basis of hope but how great would Princeton by the sea or young and the lost dogs shows be. All so exciting.
yes I'm aware of that, but since the first performance series release, which was with Crazy Horse, there has been Massey Hall, Canterbury House, Dreamin' Man, Cellar Door, Hitchhiker, and now this new one. All great, but I'm also burned out on solo acoustic Neil. I rarely, if ever, return to these. I've heard about how awesome the 2012-13 Crazy Horse shows were, I'd like to hear them in their full glory! Those extended, distorted instrumental sections represent Neil at his absolute best.
