Neil Young Official Release 5-8 & 8.5-12 to get CD release (Pricing & Shipping Thread)

Glad to hear that they are going to appear and they are in jewel cases, but in the UK the pricing for both box sets is ludicrous for jewel cased product.

 

The UK prices for these sets on CD are a joke considering they will each £5 sooner rather than later

 

Will the CDs be in a slipcase box?

No, they are a joke because the sets are 4 and 5 CDs. It's almost as if we are stuck in the 1990s.

I'd jump on these at £25-30. Not at these ridiculous prices.

 

Ridiculous as Volume 1-4 - arguably all of his most popular albums - are £12.99 for the box

 

I don't believe this, it better be digipak to match my volume one ORS box.

 

My volume one had jewel boxes. Unfortunately, they had no booklets, but a single sleeve with the technical details on the back. As I already have the remastered standalone releases, I sold it anyway.

I waited around 18 months before buying the first box and paid £9.99 for a second hand copy via Amazon. It was still in the shrinkwrap, it had been opened but it was as new. This was for the 24ct numbered USA version. Patience is very often rewarded...

 

Nah, the original pressing of the ORS box 1-4 was digipaks with gold cd's.

 

no it was not.

they were originally released individually in jewel cases in june/july 2009. the gold discs came a few months after that.

The standard ORS box has jewel cases.

The "gold disc" version has digipaks.

So hopefully we will be getting both options again.

My gold disc box set of the first four are replica mini album sleeves. All original artwork including inserts and protective sleeves for the discs.

 

EU release is jewel cases, overpriced US gold CDs are cardboard.

Yeah I bought the first set 01-04 in jewel cases on first issue. So I hope these are the same at this point.

 

for the 100th time:

the original and first release of ORS 1-4 in north america came in july 2009. they were in jewel cases. i bought mine at HMV at bay/yonge (RIP) in toronto, on at some point in july 2009.
the LP-replicas/gold CDs/etc. came later.
