Neil Young Official Release 5-8 & 8.5-12 to get CD release (Pricing & Shipping Thread)

Well his Decade RSD 2017 release came out on time but perhaps that had nothing to do with him. All his albums up to and including Live Rust (no Decade though) are available as hi res downloads and the ones I have sound wonderful like the remastered cds (Beach, etc). Got the Blu Cafe as download as well. Perhaps Hawks and the Geffen albums will be done as hi res one day.
I hope the cds that this thread is about make it to an actual release.

 

I suspect the release of any Archives set may depend on whether with those blu-rays you can turn a profit on what surely are decreasing sales figures.

 

I can't see releasing three options like the first box. Seeing how bands who will sell more find it more profitable to just include DVD and Blu in the same package it makes less business sense to have to produce separate boxes. You can include a set of discs that are essentially coasters for everyone and charge more!

and you know, that neil young KNOWS, that every single neil young fan wants "time fades away" on CD............it's borderline evil.

 

Not exactly true, a lot of us fans already have the HDCD version, thank goodness for CD-R technology.

 

Yeah I have that. And the Pono version in FLAC.

But I just want an actual official cd.

So Neil. Lol.

 

The next few months should be very entertaining. My pre-order remains.

 

I laughed at the cynicism of someone on the Hitchiker thread who said that despite the announcement TFA was never going to be released on cd.Turns out they were a prophet.
If fan abuse was a crime Neil would be serving a life sentence.

I gave up on Neil years ago. The last thing I bought by Neil was "Tonight's The Night" from the Pono store. I figured I'd never see it in a CD remastered. I still might be right.

I love Neil but I wish he would agree to release his archival stuff more rapidly, before most of his fan base disintegrates!
