No, Recut or "RE-1" does not specifically mean a better master, It merely means the 1st time was "undesireable" at mastering-for-manufacturing, basically.

BTW, Rumours is not right and they should still now be on RE-2 in the states. If they've used RE-3 by now, maybe they've corrected it, but "Second Hand News" does a loop-de-loop on the end and "Dreams" ends too cold with a 1/2 second hunk missing out of the end.

Oddly enough, "Gold Dust Woman" starts cold and ends with a fade.

Other than "GOld Dust Woman" the CD in the states should still be like that, annoying as it is, and the LP certainly wasn't weirded like that.

Why would you want to loop the end of "Second Hand News" around twice? Sounds like a sampling for a rap record!

Check your copies. I'm tellin' ya!! :)

I've had a rant about this before. Even talked with Cristie McVie's Mgr, (believe it or not) after I asked a Warners record exec about it while doing music reports in radio. He called me right back insisiting that "I know, that is the RIGHT one." EEK
