From a rolling stone article: Neil Young on His Archives Website, Future Releases and Crazy Horse – Rolling Stone

RS: What’s the next Archives release? Is it Odeon/Budokan from the 1976 Crazy Horse tour?
Neil: "That’s ready to go. It was supposed to be coming in about six weeks, but I found something else that I wanted to put out first. Odeon/Budokan is ready to go, but Tuscaloosa is next."

    RS:What’s that?
Neil: "It’s [a concert] from the period right around Harvest and Tonight’s the Night. For me, it’s edgy. It’s like those mellow songs with an edge. It’s really trippy to be down in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and singing those songs from Harvest and the songs that we were doing for Time Fades Awaybefore it came out. I found this thing and it had such a great attitude to it. I just loved the whole night, so I put that together with [engineer] John Hanlon. That will be our next album. Then we’ll do the other one and the other ones after that. There’s just so many that I keep changing my mind all the time. It’s good. It’s good to be able to change your mind. [Note: The February 5th, 1973, Tuscaloosa, Alabama show has never circulated in bootleg circles and fans have never even reconstructed the complete set list.]"

Sounds very cool! This will be the first single night live release since massey hall

    Cue the fickle-Neil grousing.

Cue me loving the tantalizing potential of this unforeseen curve ball!

    I'm in.

  3. Sounds good, assuming he doesn't get distracted by yet another shiny object before release date and this one gets tossed on the "coming out someday" pile.
Keep listening to old shows, Neil!

Hey, if there's no box and he keeps spitting these archive shows out like Pez, I don't think you'll hear anyone complain!

I think I remember word of this leaking out a few months ago, Stray Gators material that wasn't Time Fades Away II. If they can keep to the 3 or 4 a year mentioned (Neil being Neil and all), a lot of good stuff is well on its way.

If it's just the incomplete/unconfirmed set list found in the link on the original post I'll be a very happy man.

Well there might be a little complaining if he releases these separately and then they end up on the box, similar to what he did with the first Archives set.
He did say Volume 2 was coming out this year. That being said I'm not complaining. My first two Neil Young concerts were 1973 and 1976, so the prospect of the next two archive shows being from those tours is fantastic news to me. I'll take them!

Judging from the concerts around it, we can probably expect On the Way Home and Here We Are in the Years before what's listed and Cinnamon Girl and Southern Man after. Maybe also After the Gold Rush and Are You Ready For the Country, those were in a lot of shows as well.

  14. It seems he is putting out the contents of Archives Vol 2 1 disc at a time. This will be the 4th release from this period in 18 months.Wondering how much will be left for the box set that will be a big inducement for people who aren't completists to buy it.

Ten songs on the set list, if Pete Long was correct.

I don't need a big box at this point. I'm fine with the piecemeal way. That said, I will miss not having that nice smelling book that came with volume 1. ;)

    Great. Looking forward to this.
Unexpected, was looking forward to Odeon-Budokan, guess we'll see it on the boxset in May.

Just keep them rolling out Neil.

I'll take a couple of archive releases a year rather than a huge box and the endless wait
