New Audio-Technica turntable AT-LP5 for £330.

    It's probably identical to the AT LP120 under the skin (USB and built in preamp). At least there appears to be some AT input into the arm design.

    Pretty much the same thing as other AT turntables, just a different wrapper, I could be wrong, but, USB, onboard preamp, and Audacity software doesn't make me hopeful for anything to get excited about.

    Took a quick peek, pretty much same specs as the AT120, w&f .2, s/n 50db. Nothing new here.

    Even if the same innards as the LP120 I would choose this for the appearance.

    Why don't they get a clue and sell a version WITHOUT that damn onboard preamp?

    Or at least a true bypass of the onboard preamp.

    I've just purchased one, interestingly, it sounds noticeably better than the AT-LP 120, Less motor noise, Cleaner sound, FAR better earthing. I'm delighted because I love my AT-LP 120 fpr what it cost.
