Not surprised that the Crowes have allowed this to be screwed up.

Actually, the band has nothing to do with these reissues, to be fair. But, I do agree with you, it's a shame. Could have been so good. They deserve to be heard on a well-pressed record with a great mastering.

  3. Two or three reviews and an unconfirmed 'Rm' and people are giving up on these already?

If you want to complain, then complain to the record company who reissued these as they make the decisions. More people need to do this...just requires a quick email or even a tweet. The more voices, the more something is likely to change and we get decent sounding records again!

Yeah thats him! (Ron McMaster) *sigh*

  9. Didn't Ron Mcmaster do the 2014 Kiss vinyl remasters? The initials look a bit different than in that pic.

Just look at the $$$ y'all going to save by not buying these crap reissues. We all have the music already, sho nuff.

The KISS reissues were done by Kevin Reeves and they all sound different from the originals.

  14. I believe Kevin Reeves did the digital transfers and Mcmaster cut the lacquers.

And at least several of them sounded very good.

Hmmm... This is discouraging news, I was really looking forward to these especially since Amorica and Three Snakes are being pressed by QRP, which is usually a good thing. Is it possible the European versions are different?

I will probably keep my pre-order for Amorica and cancel the rest for now.

Someone put enough thought into spreading these into two discs... You'd have to think they'd want them to sound good.
    I'm still cautiously optimistic.

I think you have a really good system that will expose these...they may sound adequate with a budget system that is not quite as resolving. Its all in the mastering and RM's cuts arent good... period. Spreading them out over two discs wont make a lot of difference if the fidelity isnt there in the first place imho...

I reckon so, id be suprised if theyre not. I dont think they usually do separate masterings for universal music but i may be wrong...

Thank God that the original CDs sound fantastic. Probably never get a decent sounding version of BYS.

I was going to get Three Snakes and Southern Harmony, as i dont have any Black Crowes on vinyl. Im not just gonna buy for the sake of it though, as theres plenty of other records i want. I assume these are going for a fairly high price especially in the Uk (£20+) so i don't understand why they cant do it right?

I am going to keep Three Snakes I think no matter what as the 7" set annoys me. I have NM originals of the other 3 so I am not sure what I will do with those. I preordered all 4.
