Wow, this is HUGE, HUGE, HUGE, HUGE, HUGE!!!!!, no?

How was this not leaked earlier? NEED remastered The River and BITUSA, badly, and let's just hope they don't tamper with the first 2 too much. Gotta find a way to get this on both CD and vinyl......

I'm all in for the CD set. The River is in dire need of a proper CD mastering.

So is that "plangent playback system" any good?

Can you refresh my memory? How were Ludwig's remasters of Born To Run and Darkness? I imagine the rest of the albums will be done in the same style.

Absent bonus tracks or live material I'll be more interested in purchasing some of these individually.

    I remember buying a 1973 - 1984 box set in England.

I really hope this one will better that one, in terms of sonics

My first thought: I guess we'll have to wait a lot longer now for the hoped-for The River box.

I'm in as well. Really looking forward to this. Having just purchased a new turntable as a result of The Beatles Mono Vinyl Box, the question becomes do I purchase it on both CD and vinyl? Probably :agree:

The news has been on Springsteen boards for weeks.

I think the reason it's not HUGE is because most were hoping for The River box or archival downloads, and there's already a remastered BTR and Darkness, and there are no bonus tracks, no video - basically this is the last thing fans were waiting for.

Well, don't know what to say about it. With the notable exception of The River (and the lo-fi Nebraska) I'm 'assuming' these same new remasters are the same that have been available in lossy audio via Mastered for iTunes? With the cd's not available as separate releases and without any new bonus tracks, not enough to make me buy them all together.

I'm actually more excited about this release (uniform remastering of arguably his seven best albums plus the 60-page book) than the River boxset (although I'll be getting that at some point after it's out too).

And for the rumored archival live releases. Instead, just a re-release of the same ol'.

    Missed it
, and I figured most, like me, partic around here, would be more excited about decent sounding Rivers and BITUSAs than any bonus material.

The most interesting thing is that it says "Vol 1".
Does this mean we will get remasters and vinyl of The Rising, Magic, Tom Joad and Devils and Dust etc in the future?

Thanks for the link. I read one of his posts, but not the right one. Still, do they come out and say they are not the same? The Plangent process was discussed at the time of the iTunes digital releases.
