Have to look for a second job now...
No SACDs for Soft Parade or Morrison Hotel? Is there any reason to buy these if you already have the DVD-As, the DCCs, and the Audio Fidelity reissues?
I'm down for the 4 SACD's for sure.
Depending on how limited they are I'd buy the lp's two at a time. I think between the DVDA and DCC/AF stuff I'm fine digitally.
How many times...
I suspect Audio Fidelity's contract with Warner/WEA for those two albums precludes Warner licensing them out immediately to another party. I can't believe it is a coincidence that the two albums that AF has recently released are not getting the SACD treatment from AP.
First-day purchase for myself, I can put the DVD-Audios away in a closet.
This would be the 6th time for reissuing these SAME Doors' albums?
These would be the first high-res digital and the first 45 rpm releases though.
Wanted: Audiophile reissues of other artists and other genre pleeeeeeeeeeeaaase.......................
Hopefully only available in the new year...! Can't produce enough $$!
Is this the set that Steve has referred to a couple times recently?
I assumed he was the one who would be mastering them.
I love me SACDs but the DCCs are pretty damn good...and really how many times do I need these...must do some pondering.
You wonder if the next band AP does is Led Zeppelin, I can see it.
No SACD of The Soft Parade. Damn!
Wow, talk about having options.
So do I wait for Steve's set or get these?
Are they one in the same?
Yeah, that's what I'd like to know as well.
Well Steve describes his as the "ultimate vacuum tube mastered digital version ".
I prefer the "ultimate vacuum tube mastered ANALOG version". Fuinny how there can be 2 ulimate versions though.
BTW - is there a link for the page shown above?
Still no release of the mono debut on cd. Just the vinyl reissue(s) and itunes.
So I own the remasters ("She get's high") and the gold/DCC versions. Do I really need another version of these? I love the Doors but I am thinking one can only do so much with these 6 (or in this case 4).
So glad these rare albums are finally back in print!
Ha Ha! I get it!
A big +1.
We already have bought the Perception Box of hirez which is reference quality. The Doors box of LPs was really good. The DCC and AF discs were fantastic.
Sorry Chad, no sale this time. I am skeptical the sound quality will be improved enough to justify the cost.
Let's see some new titles for a change.
Some of you are a little crazy. You think a gold or dcc version is going to compete with a sacd version? I don't even think dvd-audio competes with a well-done SACD. I have the vinyl box set and know that spead over two albums and at 45rpm if pressed quietly which is the reputation for chad's pressing plant will be much better. You guys on the fence or with arms crossed should instead be excited about the possibilities here. Yeah Led Zep at 45rpm would be killer too but if Chad does well here perhaps he can do that next!!! My ultimate would be Beatles albums 45rpm!!!
