Probably a ton--so share what you feel was worthwhile from 2017 releases (only) that you have added to your collection!
Of course, you would likely never add anything you didn't think was worhtwhile.

Love it. Forgot that one! I have that excellent Archives release too! My new favorite by Neil...for now! He has a NEW one coming out in December.

Neil is remarkable! After waiting so long for his Archives, it seems we have & will have a wealth of old and new material--more than I can afford!!

I like that one a lot, finally got around to ordering a copy of the vinyl from the UK along with a few others, kind of an early Xmas gift for myself. Just got a notice that it shipped. Should be someplace in my list of favorites this year too, there's been some good modern post-punk records this year... Modern post-punk bands

Thats a great post. It turned me on to a few bands I probably would have missed.

Sky Trails by David Crosby is the best one for me. I listen to it at least once a week and have not grown tired of it.

Cold Specks’ album Fool’s Paradise was the best new release I bought.

Sgt. Pepper’s 50th Remix was a great surprise, and I listen regularly.

Honourable Mentions: I only streamed it and then saw selections in concert, but “Is This the Life We Really Want” was excellent. I may buy the CD next year, the record is too expensive.

I'm not often up to date with my listening -- I do like a great deal of contemporary and pop music, but I'm usually at least 6 months, if not a year or more, behind. So it's not often I have anything to contribute to a "Favorite Album of the Year" list. But I went looking for this one because I do have a favorite from 2017. It's an album from ECM Records by the Danish String Quartet, "Last Leaf," a collection of Nordic folk and dance songs (with a few recent compositions inspired by those sounds thrown in). Imagine you stumbled on a square dance where not only was there lively dancing and great fun but also this uplifting and ennobling sound, all performed with beautiful tone and dexterity. That's what this album is like. Anybody who likes string quartets, classical music, or folk music really ought to pick this up. (Out of stock right now on Amazon, but it is an AutoRipper, so you could hear it immediately!)

Loved this release as well, especially because I saw him on tour with this lineup in June 2014.
