CD 1 appears to be the Jack Daniels tie clip performance.

I was at the October 7, 1974 Spectrum performance. To say I am "over-the-moon" about this one is an understatement!!!!!:goodie::pineapple:

If I paid all that $$$$ for the tie clip and now here it is in a box set I'd be pretty upset.

Glad it is though, as it is a really solid performance!

Now the question becomes is the "Sinatra In Japan 1985" a Japanese only release? Or will they have it stopped or delayed so that it doesn't compete with SRO?

IMHO, there is no "competition" here. SRO is the winner hands-down!

Plus, we all know we'll end up with both sets anyway.:p

Mr. S was "attacked" by a local Philly self-promoted blonde bombshell babe at the spectrum that night. In mid song...can't remember which one..."Sunshine" maybe. She ran onstage big boobs bobbing all over in her tight white top and embraced him from behind. He made some comments about her endowments as I recall. It had to have been a paid promo set up as he was not in the least upset (or so it appeared). Remember there were no big screens in those days.

He was also given a 10 foot "hoagie" (Philly talk for sub) by some ladies. I have some very grainy Polaroids of that I think.
Between now and release date my cob webs are going to loosen up and I will remember more from that night 44 years ago.

At least now we'll have a Larry Walsh remaster instead of listening to an MP3!!! Should be good.

“I get an audience involved, personally involved, in a song, because I’m involved myself.
It’s not something I do deliberately. I can’t help myself.”
    – Frank Sinatra

Sinatra’s acclaimed concerts always sold out, leaving many fans clamoring to try to score a spot to stand behind the seats or along a wall with a rare and coveted “standing room only” ticket to the big show. Being in the room for Sinatra’s performances of “Come Fly With Me,” “My Way,” “You Make Me Feel So Young,” “The Lady Is A Tramp,” “The Theme From ‘New York, New York’,” and so many more of his iconic songs was a thrilling experience for anyone who had the opportunity.

Standing Room Only presents three remarkable complete concerts from three decades of Sinatra’s career: his January 28, 1966 second show with Count Basie at The Sands, Las Vegas (previously unreleased on CD); his October 7, 1974 concert at Philadelphia’s Spectrum arena (previously unreleased); and his October 24, 1987 concert at Dallas’ Reunion Arena (previously unreleased in its entirety). The collection’s audio is newly remixed by Larry Walsh at NBCUniversal Audio and mastered by Seth Foster at Universal Mastering Studios. The deluxe 3CD package includes a 30-page booklet with liner notes plus several rare and never-before-published photos.

FYI, a snippet from the Philly concert on 10/7/74 has already been officially released by Reprise. If you have The Main Event album (not DVD), the verse to "I Get a Kick Out of You" was taken from the Philly concert and spliced into the MSG recording.

:agree: The track list is identical, and the length of the available track (“Fly Me to the Moon”) is the same.

It appears both of the new releases have made a previous limited-edition item not so “exclusive” (Baby Blue Eyes CD and JD tie clip). Some may feel a bit cheated.

I think the comment “never before on cd” or words to that effect all but confirm it’s the JD show.

In a review in one of the Philly papers the next morning, the person writing the review said that as Mr. S was singing "Ol' Man River" one of the bodyguards surrounding the "boxing ring" stage leaned over to another guard and audibly said "The man is singing his sweet a$% off tonight!"
