Just got a e-mail from elusive disc announcing reissues of GP and Angel for June 24. Anyone have any info on these? Says they are from Rhino. Were the previous reissues from Rhino? Just wondering if these are simply reissues of reissues, or perhaps a new mastering?

Yes the previous ones were from Rhino. I have the "G.P." one.

We might still. Weren't the previous ones from Scorpio? I, too, was really hoping for Bellman/Grundman remasters.

I e-mailed Dr. Rhino and asked if this was a new mastering and if so, who did it....but no response so far.

Did anyone order these? elusive disc say they are in-stock now.

    Cheers

I was just going to ask about these. Any info (PopMarket doesn't mention anything about the mastering)?

These seem to be new pressings and they brought back the GP gatefold which was missing from the scorpio pressings that have been out for a few years.

I'd love to know any info on these.

I thought MoFi did these a few years ago, but I can't remember if there was vinyl or not.

They just did SACD/CD, no vinyl.

Nothing matching the descriptions of these reissues is listed on Discogs, so I guess it's safe to assume that these are in fact the brand new ones.

Well I bit on the popmarket offering; $37 shipped for both GP and Grievous Angel. I have a nice UK pressing of the latter, so when the new ones arrive I will compare them.

Anyone buy this? After I checked out, it turned into "GP" and "Another Side of This Life." Going to write to them now, but hopefully it's just a typo/kink in the system.

I'm sure that's a typo. How come there isn't any information on these? I would like to buy from PopMarket if I had some information on mastering. Frustrating!

I know the previous issues were from Reprise - were they overseen by Rhino? There is nothing on the lp that says rhino, and the catalog number doesn't jive with most Rhino reissues.

I'm anxiously awaiting some news from someone here on these new reissues - and I hope remasters.
    Anyone with deadwax info??

Well, my order page now shows GP being backordered and Another Side of This Life (with the photo of that album) as processing. No mention of Grevious Angel anywhere.

Same here. I immediately sent email, asking clarification. Hopefully just a glitch

Same issue here after I placed my popmarket order. I don't want Another side of this Life. I sent an email as well.

    Glitch in the matrix.

PopMarket has been selling new stock just before/day of/week of new releases. It's actually frustrating because they undercut most places. Someone mentioned the last (maybe not WB) edition of GP not being a gatefold. I'm not at home, so can't check.

Did anyone purchase the Alternate Takes RSD release? I would imagine these new pressings will sound similar to that.

  25. I got that. Its great but not as great sounding as the regular album.
