For some reason, I thought this box would be larger than what the images show. I'm not sure why, I figured something maybe 24x24?

The general thought was "80 discs" = "port crusher". We were wrong.

Well, the one in the link sold, but no sale price is listed. I don't know how eBay works these days (haven't used it in years) but either the seller sold bona fide at a price that suited him or sellers are trying to establish a series of existing sales to drive up prices in the secondary market.

Honestly though, given that the large set sold out before shipping, it figures that there would be buyers willing to pay significantly above retail price to obtain one.

Well, gang, my brother Gardo is at my house this weekend. He just sent me a text telling me my box has arrived. School has ended, so I'm on my way to the experience.

The 1995 show is surpringly good. I'm going to put my time machine in reverse from there.

You mean "porch crusher." What does "port crusher" even mean.

He is in Argentina, the boxes arrive via container ship to a dock there, hence port crusher.

Ha, I never looked at the bottom; that is a cool design. My pass and ticket were from '95 and '93 I think.

So, the packaging disputes Billy's claim in his bio that T.C. was never a real member of the band.

I was just gonna post that my favorite part of the box is when I discovered the rings of the tree on the bottom! I didn't count but Im guessing 30 rings

I'm not ashamed to say that I did count (from the photo), and you're right.

You are absolutely correct. This is the most logical, well thought-out and reasoned response to my stupid question. My hats are off to you, all of my hats.

No shipping notice, but my box showed up about 1 hour ago or so. Was here when I got home from work. Nice!!!
My scroll was not a miracle, but was numbered 5048 out of 6500. I assume those getting a miracle have miracle printed instead of a limited edition number?

I spent the last 45 minutes checking every disc, making sure they looked good and were all there and every show was correct. So far so good.

Not sure if I saw it mentioned, but the box is not fully wood. The bottom is cardboard, and the wood is more like thin "balsa wood" attached to cardboard to give it weight - so the box is not solid wood.

My backstage pass was from August 21, 1993 - Autzen Stadium, Eugene Oregon.
My ticket was from Oct 30, 1991 - General Admission - Oakland Coliseum Arena, Oakland, California.

Since everyone is getting a different pass and ticket, I guess these could be "real" from the archives (as opposed to reprints for the box)?

Nice set. That said, with the quality of the box, I truly can't believe that they would charge the same price for the USB lightning bolt, where you get so much less (I guess you get the same content, just fully digital).

    Can't wait to start listening.

Yes, the Dead.net shipping email said that these would be real tickets and backstage passes from the archives. Jealous of those of you who got the box already, I don't think I'll get mine here on the west coast until the middle of next week. Good idea to spot check to make sure all the discs are correct.

    30 rings? Really?

Man, this set is so far over the top...
