Finally the news is in, and it's good news! Just received this from Jennifer Warnes' management:

The new album ‘Another Time, Another Place’ is due for release on 27 April.

A digital single ‘Just Breathe’ is being released on 2nd March.

That's exciting news! Still I will only believe it when I see/hear it!

To make up for a staggering amount of lost time, I'm sure the new release will be a triple CD with each disc clocking in at around 80 minutes. Or not...

I love her voice. The last one I've heard is The Hunter which I like a lot, so this is something to look forward to.

Strange to release a single, as if there’s a chance for Jenny to storm the charts! I guess it’s mainly to gain some media awareness for the project.

More a 'teaser' perhaps, although 'First We Take Manhattan' was a fairly successful single, so who knows ...

...it was a different time and place then and kind of a fluke!

At any rate, can’t wait to hear something new! I hope I like it better than “The Well”, an album I just never got into...

Has Jennifer Warnes ever toured? Any one seen her in concert?

I've seen her in concert twice, once not long after her last album ('The Well') was released back in 2001 and once on a tour she did about six years ago of theatres in Canada (there may have been a few US dates too). I think that was the last time she toured.

Man, just love that song. I only discovered that album a few years ago and as we all know, stunning sound. I got a promo copy of her Arista Best Of album and I still play it regularily. Run To Her and Could It Be Love are fantastic songs on that album I had never heard before, and the entire album is just a great listen. Look up those two 80's songs if you are a fan of hers. The new album will be an immediate vinyl purchase for me.

I really don't think that she has ever played Philly, to my best knowledge. Been a fan since she used to be on the Smothers Brothers show !

An Amazon posting! This is for real. I wonder how many of these songs are originals and how many, if any, are covers. Any known Leonard Cohen songs here?

Expecting further details of this album very soon (tomorrow?). At the moment this a UK only, CD only, release. If I recall, her new contract was with BMG UK. Not sure what the release details are for North America. Nothing showing yet. For now this looks like an Amazon.UK order option only.

I'm disappointed that so far there is no vinyl listed. I thought Jenny was an "audiophile queen" :D

I imagine a high end vinyl release will follow. Some time within the next 17 years.

Really nice...17 years between albums is kind of a long time :)

  24. This is very good news. After not hearing about it for several months I began to think last year's rumours were false after all. I'm glad this is indeed for real. Needless to say I'm going to pick up a copy.

  25. Me too. It was originally scheduled for release in October, then January, then her site dropped any mention of a release date. I'll be pre-ordering the CD.
