What an excellent interview. Thanks for posting it. Real insight into the dynamics of the band. Awesome.

Glad they are still creating new stuff and hitting the road.

Such a great band. Unleashed is awesome.

Hope it's a cool record. Great band. Lots of variety in their albums as you look back. Rock on Priest!

In a PM with 'Stay Crunchy' I made a typo on this album calling it 'Mostradamus' - but think it sums it up that too much was thrown into the mix and definitely needed a bit of trimming.

But there is something still great about it lurking under all the flab. In an another (failed) attempt to appreciate the reformed Overly Long Modern Maiden - I came back to Mostradamus and it immediately showed that when it takes off, Priest were still performing with more passion, energy and fire that seems to be the key factor missing from the other classic Metal band.

Redeemer of Souls compounded that theory as it's just outshining every reformed Maiden album by a long way.

I'm in for the new album, but I'll pass on the tour dates.

Saw them on the Epitaph tour in 2011, and even though Rob's voice was going, he nailed it that night. They couldn't top that setlist either. (And it was supposed the be the end of the touring, so the crowd and band were really making the most of the night together.)

Interestingly, I saw Maiden the following night, standing in the same spot in the same venue! Enjoyed the Priest gig more. As much as I like and respect Maiden (and they're way more focussed on giving their fans value for money than Priest ever were), I've always felt Priest had the edge in terms of songwriting and pushing the envelope.

It's good to see both bands heading for the final stretch in reasonable shape.

Got in for the pre-sale this morning, scored 11th row tickets, section C (floor). The teenager in me is way beyond excited.

In addition to Saxon The Black Star Riders are also going to be opening for Priest. This is a great band that includes: Scott Gorham from Thin Lizzy, Ricky Warwick from The Almighty and Damon Jonson, who used to play with Alice Cooper...

Extremely disappointing. Remember when this band had catchy tunes and hooks?

it's really hard to tell from 15 secs.

Hard to tell from a 15 second clip. Was hoping for a fuller Screaming For Vengeance sound.

I liked the 15 seconds, personally. I like the album cover, too.

I hope there isn't a deluxe edition this time, just put all the songs out and package in a jewel case, please!

Again, can't judge from 15 seconds, but pretty good.

    Cover's good

Why? I didn't like Redeemer of Souls exactly for that very reason - lack of good tunes and hooks. The songs just seem to go nowhere. There were some great hooks and melodies on Angel and even Nostradamus though.

Is it just me, or does it look like the Painkiller fused himself with that thing from the American Rocka Rolla cover? :D

As for the song, it's just okay. It sounds like a watered-down Redeemer of Souls outtake, though of course, it's a bit unfair to judge it going by a mere 16 second snippet. Let's hope they simply picked the wrong song to promote and that the rest of the album is better.

I suppose it's unfair to keep comparing Priest to Maiden...

Let's hope the music will be less generic and unoriginal than the album's title and artwork.
