I have everything up to Dear Heather and wasn't remarkably sold on that one. Have the last two albums abandoned the increasingly awful "Casio Concerto" format?

Being clear, I love the '80s albums, but it moved from being old gear that had an idiosyncratic sound to being cheap modern gear with bad sound (IMO) and I don't have much fondness for the latter.

Anyone else wishing it wasn't just talk when Andrew Eldritch interviewed Cohen and talked about producing his next one? I'd be on that like white on rice if that collaboration ever materialized.

 

I really didn't like Dear Heather either, but you should check out Old Ideas. That's a really good one. The Future will always be my favorite latter-period Cohen, though. I found the keyboards, band, smokey voice, etc. really added up to a great album.

 

The cover reminds me of Songs From a Room.

 

and yet, he's not watered down the quality, so far.

Oh wow, this is amazing news. Every new Cohen album at this point is like a prize. Anybody think he'll mount another tour at this point? Like a dummy I missed him when I had the chance.
