New Nine Inch Nails EP "Not The Actual Events" & Vinyl Reissue Series

I e-mailed the NIN store yesterday about shipping dates for my vinyl orders, no reply so far.

 

They answered me that it's basically "not Spring yet"

 

Yeah, I doubt they will release any official dates.

 

I'm still wondering if these are going to get a mass release or is it just through the store. I think I'll hold on a bit longer now that I have waited this long.

My reply would be "But it is... "

 

Are you all opening the physical component, or leaving it sealed?

 

I'm leaving mine sealed for now.

I too received a (very friendly) reply from Gnarlywood, the NIN vendor, about the re-issues - Spring, no date set at this time.

 

Damnit, so I'm moving in early April and I guarantee they'll ship these the minute I'm out of my current address.

I think I also saw a "we can't change your ship to address that you originally preordered with" warning on their website.

Then we find out these pressings are all from the lower DR digital files.

Then I remember that this is costing me around half for what I paid for the latest Music Matters subscription, which is flawless, and I'm just losing patience

Sorry for the rant. Anyone know if they can change the shipping address for these?

I opened the physical component and bought and extra one so it's sealed and I can open one. Warning that you will be Dirty opening it

Is it just printer toner inside? That's what it looks like in the pictures I've seen.

 

TR posted at Echoing the Sound that the downloads are the files going direct to the lathe. Also sucks because there are micro drops at the edges of the file boundaries, so the transitions aren't actually continuous (it's tough to notice by listening, hence my use of "micro").

No, it's organic makeup stuff. Various people had it confirmed by Firebrand support. It also makes sense given the "time sensitive" sticker on the packaging – once makeup expires, you get some truly awful crap.

 

Do you mean that the organic black particles will rot and turn black?

Also, where does it say "time sensitive" on the packaging? We're talking about the "physical component" aren't we?

 

I emailed Firebrand and asked them to cancel my order. They did it without blinking an eye; no questions asked. Very easy to deal with. You might just cancel your order then re-order when you're ready.

 

I left mine sealed.

Yes, the dirty cardboard physical component. It's a sticker on the envelope it was mailed in.

 

Late to this thread, but it's so interesting he is returning to The Fragile. I never loved this album, though I've listened to it countless times. I'm very tempted to purchase the variations vinyl.

Was also looking for an original press of Downward Spiral, but I will be purchasing this 2017 pressing. Hope it sounds good.

Ordered my vinyl copies of The Downward Spiral remaster and Deviations: 1 yesterday. Got the Deviations download and spent most of yesterday listening to almost all of it.

Got to say, I appreciate what Reznor and Moulder did with it overall. A few nips and tucks here and there. Some tracks sound virtually unchanged to these ears. What they added in I think sounds good.

Looking forward to spinning these records to see how the pressings stack up.

 

Wondering when the EP will ship.
