New Noel Gallagher album in 2017, "Who Built the Moon"*

  1. Noel's definitely tapped into Bowie as an influence before, with All The Young Dudes already mentioned earlier in this thread. However, I also sensed a little inspiration from the same source on Force Of Nature, which ends with a tag reminiscent of the early '70s peak of glam rock. As for such a style over a whole album? I'd certainly be interested to hear that...

Anyone think we'll get a live album/DVD from CY tour before the new album? I am hoping he has filmed one of the shows as follow-up to International Magic.

does anybody else thinks Noel needs a proper producer next time?
i know Sardy isn't well regarded among the fan base but one thing he did well was to cover up vocal weakness from both Noel & Liam in the studio.

Chasing Yesterday was solid all around but the vocals were little too...bare/honest considering Noel's ability.
Noel is perhaps my favorite post-90's artist, he's fairly limited in everything he does but then so am i so...guess that doesn't bother me 2much.

i think a big factor in the sound of his records is his method of recording first a guitar and guide vocal to click and then overdubbing the rest of the track. this makes his albums sound a little stiff at times. to make a record with a live band feel to it would be, for me, the biggest production change that i would welcome. apparently, for this new album he is writing in the studio for the first time so perhaps this will lead to some more instances of actual interplay between musicians in real time happening on a noel gallagher album.

It would be great if Gem Archer played on his next album. He's played with Noel live a lot recently.

I hope this happened. He's obviously not in Beady Eye anymore which should lessen any potential issues with Liam.

  7. I love the story from Gold And Silver And Sunshine (the documentary about the making of Dig Out Your Soul) where Noel recalls being in Gem's loft recording a demo and having to be finished before his kids arrived home from school - more than any of the others in Oasis, you can tell they really enjoyed working together, so I hope at least a partial reunion is on the cards...

@ShardEnder thanks for bringing that up. Looks like I'll be watching that doc this evening. Best!

Despite what Noel says about being ignored in the US, I completely love him! Can't wait to hear what he has in store for us! :goodie:

That sounds like something Noel would say about another musician.

One thing I hate about the mod haircut. The fringe is always too short.

Noel's third album has been announced to come out on November 9th.

So we have Liam's solo album in October and Noel's third HFB album the month after... :D

If it means getting great albums from both Noel and Liam rather than one great album from Oasis, I would rather they stay apart. :D:laugh:

Would be like if the Beatles stayed together but we never got ATMP, POB, BOTR, etc. o_O

I'm not overly impressed with Liam's forthcoming single sorta Grovin with Mr Blow meets Oasis b-side. 60 second sample via YouTube I believe.
