Noel mentioned that in an interview once:

"Sgt. Pepper is special for me because I was born on the 29 May, and it came out on the 1 June, so when I was being born in St Mary's Hospital, Manchester, it was being played on hospital radio."

He has to sit on it for 5 months, it'll sound stale to him when it comes out

I wonder why the mastering has been finished but it isn't being released until November?

Is it so that it doesn't overshadow Liam's album?

Could be a combination of things ..,Pepper, Liam' record. Bit odd going for the Xmas market he normally tours to support it. Not a good time for a European tour. Is he the producer?

He co-produced the debut High Flying Birds album and was the sole producer on Chasing Yesterday, so I'd say it's likely yes.

    Debut imo was better produced.

Looking forward to Noel's 3rd album and Liam's 1st album in November plus the inevitable Oasis reunion which we all know will happen within the next few years.

  10. I'd still love to hear more from Noel's collaboration with the Amorphous Androgynous, as his last album is one that never really clicked with me (similar to Beady Eye's sophomore effort, curiously).

I remember Noel being quite negative when he was promoting Chasing Yesterday. Going on about how he hated the title, didn't like the videos, etc. He seems more positive about this one although he hasn't talked about it much yet.

Then again, Noel can often be a harsh critic when it comes to his own music. He hates Be Here Now, despite thinking it was sacrilege to remix it; isn't too fond of Standing on the Shoulders of Giants, doesn't seem to think it has any strong songs and despises "Sunday Morning Call"; hated Familiar to Millions as he thought the mixing and Liam's vocals were awful; hates making music videos and has made this known on numerous occasions; hated the title of Chasing Yesterday and wasn't afraid to make fun of it even when promoting it.

Totally agree. Liam's voice always bugged me a little.

He finished it in May, why does it take six months to come out? It's not a Fast & Furious franchise or something.

This is pure speculation on my part - Maybe because apparently this has been much more of a "studio creation" than previous albums, that it's going to be a while before he's ready to go out and play/promote it live. Maybe he doesn't even want to do that until this summer's shows are over (e.g. the ones supporting U2, I'm not sure what others if any he's doing).

I've got something in common with Noel then, I can't stand "Sunday Morning Call" either!

Was just listening to "Iz Rite" by Beady Eye and I spotted a cheeky Paul McCartney reference:

"When you call my name, it takes away my pain/Till only love remains, say it again, say it again" ;)

I'm expecting a "Spies Like Us" reference on Liam's new album.

Agreed. Noel brought the songs, but Liam brought the attitude.

We shall soon see. . . Liam is slated to have a solo release near the end of this year. It would be great to see it released at the same time as his brothers.

Apparently Liam's single is out this Wednesday.
I'm keeping my expectations low as I thought Beady Eye was dire. Incredibly dull band. I hope he can improve on those records, at the least.

As for Noel's new record, apparently its the first time he's written all the songs in the studio, which hopefully will bring a little more variety to the rhythm. I look forward to it.

    Studio composed?
Would have preferred old school writing style, demoing, perfecting the song.

I believe his old style of writing was on his electric guitar with the gain turned up to 11. His newer amps only go to 10
