I wonder how many Rupert songs find their way into High in the Clouds.

And... given Paul's history... you'd think he'd maybe question associating his name with "high" in the title... lol

New music is always nice. I really liked NEW

I hope this is true and the 'no comment' leads me to think its true

Given how much I like The Bird and the Bee ("Again and Again" is one of the most perfect pop singles of the 2000s), I'm looking forward.

McCartneys playing what looks like a Zemattis Custom Acoustic Bass. Harrison had quite a few of Zemattis custom made guitars.

I hope that the rumours are true, and I am pleased that Paul is working with new people. I wonder whether he will also work with Ronson, Johns, etc, again? Another album as diverse, interesting, melodic and consistent as New would be great, especially if Paul warmed up his vocals and made them all as strong as 'Turned Out', 'I Can Bet', etc.

If we are hearing about this now, I wonder if the album is nearly finished.
Macca himself has not breathed a word about a new studio project, and he has been suspiciously quiet of late.
I'm thrilled with this news. I was beginning to think it was all over. So glad I'm wrong.

Remember that "New" was sprung on us with no advance word at all, so a surprise could happen. But it does seem like High in the Clouds is likely to come first.

Huh. I had no idea that was his 'other' gig. Guess that explains the long gap between Bird & The Bee albums.

  14. Maybe "Party Girl" will finally see the light of day on it?

Even if we only get a couple of memorable tracks I'll take it. Any new Paul McCartney music is worth consideration, God bless 'im. I would even say he has given us more good to great music post-breakup than he did while in the Beatles. Of course he's had 45 years to accomplish that but still, I'm in on any new Macca.

    Har Har!!

I did see him a little over a decade ago, and even if he was a relatively youthful 60-ish, he put on a 3+ hour show where he never left the stage. And if I thought that was a fluke, I saw him again 4 or 5 years later and again, 3+ hour never left the stage show! He'll probably play at his own wake.

That was more the absolute incompetence from his team regarding promo than anything else :p.

I'm happy to have anything from Paul- every recent record has had 2-3 very very good songs

Well, if we go by his past history I'm going to guess no.
New sold alright but didn't set the world on fire sales-wise, where Paul might be tempted to assemble all or even part of the same team if the album sales had been massive.

I can see Giles getting some more work with Paul but possibly not the others.

Ask Nigel Godrich, Jeff Lynne, Hugh Padgham, Phil Ramone, Mitchell Froom, David Foster, Trevor Horn, David Kahne, etc., their thoughts on this though Ben.:D
