New Paul McCartney album "Egypt Station" coming September 7, 2018*

I wish he was just releasing the whole album. Singles are pretty pointless for a 76 year old artist. And if the single is less than impressive it just gives people a reason to not bother with the album.

The whole what-is-he-up-to campaign has been really fun. Just release the album.

 

I can't keep up with this thread due to work responsibilities. But I thought all of the "insiders" were saying the album was coming soon? Or was it just the announcement was coming soon...of a September release? Imminent seems no longer to be right around the corner. But maybe I'm missing something here...

 

Ron, I think you and I both know that logic doesn't rule MPL.

 

He is promoting the single that comes out tomorrow. Not so insane.

 

In about an hour and a half, I expect.

Hopefully...after all etcetera mentioned sometime in 2016 (March ?) that the tracks were finished but that they were not happy with the vocals...2 years sounds like a decent amount of time to get them fixed ! If Roger Waters can be made listenable on record since 1985 they can surely do something for Macca as well. I suppose the only problem is that he tends to be a bit more melodic so...I also remember someone claiming somewhere (here ?) that he was a vocal coach and that given some time he could likely straighten out a lot of his problems. Maybe Macca finally went in that direction !

 

New was my least favorite track on NEW.....I won't let a single deter me.....but I get ur point for casual fans or potential new ones.

Exactly the number that guy - who everyone drummed out for being a one-post heretic who couldn't possibly know because all the insiders were in the dark - said was played for radio folks weeks ago.

Edit: He also said the single would be released in 4-6 weeks. This was 4 weeks and 3 days ago.

 

...or the promo for the LP will be even better!

 

4 more months and we can start really getting excited about the White Album again...

 

Do any of the insiders know for sure if the single will drop at midnight GMT?​
