I just noticed something. If you look in the bottom right corner of the rightmost page, you can see that it says "RE-INTRO on old demo." Could this mean that the song was written during Paul's hay-day but he never decided to release it, or is Paul just describing a year-old demo as old?

Bought the last two vinyl copies of Hope For The Future on Amazon. Never heard this before. Opened one and listening now.

    Love it!

I am squarely in the 'Paul Play All' camp but the boys did this song justice for sure. Would have been quite different if it was just Paul on this one and less energetic I think.

Really liked this read, even though I don't agree with this statement...

“How many songs in the 1970s did McCartney do that were as good as ‘Hey Jude’ or ‘Let It Be’ or ‘Get Back,’ much less ‘Penny Lane’ or ‘Lady Madonna’? None!,” argues Wyman.

First of all, I think that's insane and Wyman is just wrong, now of course this is my opinion, but I'd say that...

I could add even more, are just as good as those songs! Again this is my opinion.

Understand that's your impression, but I think McCartney cares very much about his entire legacy!

As I said, why release Wingspan, The McCartney Years and very recently Pure McCartney?
I just don't believe that McCartney thinks half his life is unimportant by any comparison. The man cares about all of his music, as for his touring set list over the years, I think he has done what most always say (and what I don't agree with) try to always please the Beatle fans. He still wants people to like his post Beatles music, who creates music they don't care about or like them self?!

The man doesn't work this hard for something he doesn't care about or isn't that important to him.
I think if asked, he'd say he cares very much.

I think it's time to play the song backwards. Any predictions on what we might here?

  9. Add No More Lonely Nights to that list, too. I remember hearing this in 1984 and thinking it was as good as anything he’d ever done. David Gilmour on guitar didn’t hurt, either!

    Agreed 100%.

There is a lot great work Paul has done since 1970.

His creativity doesn’t stop just at (Insert whatever year here).

I’d argue, that Queenie Eye from NEW, could have been on Magical Mystery Tour, and it holds up against any song on there...

New was so good, any song could have been on an old album of his and today known as a classic

I might be in the minority here, but I always thought Wanderlust was as good as anything he had done with the Beatles, especially with the George Martin production, and Ringo on drums.

I read this post, thinking, "Wow, that sounds like a great book." I headed to Amazon to check on it, and it turns out I already bought and read it in 2015...

Was "Wanderlust" the song Paul invited George to play on and George declined or gave some excuse? If so, was the invitation for the Tug of War session or the Broadstreet Session? Interesting that Ringo plays on the Broadstreet version but not the ToW version, right? Was Paul trying to get George and Ringo on the same track for a threetles thing?

I believe he agreed, and Paul and George Martin actually went to George's house to work on it, but they somehow didn't get around to it.

There's that picture of the three of them from that time I think.

Haha. Maybe that too. I was alluding to weeks ago when there was speculation that all the photos Paul was posting contained clues that the new album would be McCartney III. Ah, exciting times.

I think the story goes that George had Paul do overdubs on All Those Years Ago, and then they didn't have time to do Wanderlust.

I read somewhere that George Martin considered it one of McCartney's best, if not the best vocal performance up to that point, and even surpassed anything he had done with the Beatles.
