New Paul McCartney album "Egypt Station" coming September 7, 2018*

I hope Paul put in a few new songs and some old obscurity in the set-list. That s all one can expect at this stage. One must be aware that the majority of the audience doesn't t spend ridiculous amount of money to hear Paul belt out the Mess, Little lamb Dragonfly or Getting closer. Sometimes there is a need to accept the fact of life as they are not what one likes it to be
The same with the new album-it won t sales-wise come close to the likes of Drake or Ed Sheeran. The singles won t be major hits and the album won t be a new Sergeant Pepper. Paul won t deliver songs of Hej Jude or Let it be status. It might nevertheless be a fine and entertaining album even a great one. Isn t that enough

Macca has no hope of having a hit single. He shouldn't bother trying to have hits or sound current. I don't know why he employed the likes of Mark Ronson and Paul Epworth. In the DVD that came with New it looked more like he worked for them

 

Don't know if anyone posted it, but according to Richard Porter's Facebook page, secret gig at Abbey Road tomorrow night. He posted photo of crew unloading camera equipment into Abbey Road Studios

I believe it's been raining on and off and tent just to protect the camera equipment until inside. Not much room in front there

 

Thanks for the insight which makes sense. For a minute there I got carried away remembering Paul’s performance on top of the Ed Sullivan Theater sign for some reason.

 

+1! My wife and I Lindy hopped to this song for our "first dance" at our wedding.

And no, we couldn't get Paul to come play it for us.

All doors appear sound proofed and locked

 

Perhaps it's a purely financial reason: focus now on playing at indoor venues in the UK/EU due to the cold weather and play at stadiums in the USA during the spring and summer 2019?

Meanwhile, he's doing a few concerts in Canada and a couple appearances at the Austin City Limits festival so that the tour will actually start in North America and whet fans' appetites for next year.

Just speculation on my part, of course.

 

Still a blank space in October/November which I believe is planned but let's face it, nothing in stone until officially announced

 

I'm hopping from more European gigs and in Paris (I'm from Paris). But I quite sure there will be more and I hope also some gigs the USA from our friends there

 

Hopefully in HD and released on Blu-ray ( unlike his GENYC show only released on DVD).

 

I hope Paul makes everyone sing along to Hey Jude. That s so exiting
