If people listened to the album they’d get it right away(it’s the first track). Fantastic attention grabber imho. Love it

    Nothing to wonder about
    [Verse 1]
I'm going to sit right down and write myself a letter
And make believe it came from you
I'm going to write words oh so sweet
They're going to knock me off my feet
A lotta kisses on the bottom
I'll be glad I got them

    [Chorus]
I'm going to smile and say
    I hope you're feeling better
I'll close with love the way you do
I'm gonna sit right down and write myself a letter
And make believe it came from you

    [Chorus]
I'm going to smile and say
    I hope you're feeling better
And close with love the way you do
I'm gonna sit right down and write myself a letter
And make believe Oh I'm gonna make believe
I'm going to make believe it came from you

I love the Kisses on the bottom album. It features excusite arrangements and is a masterclass in singing.
The name of the album is a witty quote from the opening song. How anyone could take offense of that is beyond me
    :)

I admit I called the new singles(I Don't Know and Come On To Me) double B-sides, but man these songs are damn good.

I Don't Know is so dark(by Macca standards) and Paul's melodic strengths are shown in all their glory on Come On To Me. I can not wait to hear these songs in the context of the album. Both clocking in at over 4 minutes I used to wish they were trimmed down a bit, but now I wish they were longer. Wonderful songs...

Edit: the light scream at the end when he says "WHAT AM I doing wrong, I don't know" is PERFECT.

Especially since the kisses on the bottom in question, those in the songs as those in real life, are the series of XXXX english people tend to add at the bottom... OF A LETTER. Each X is a kiss.
    There's nothing else about it.

    XX.

Agree with every world not least that the ending go I don t now is perfect. Not only the voice but also the bass-drum creates a crescendo with very small means. Those two songs are-in very different ways -great. Let s hope for an album with songs of this calibre that might be fun
    ;)

How many transatlantic flights has Paul made in his life?

Guess correctly and win a prize.

Who care seems to be an interesting song. Described as a catchy rocker this is what NME had to say about it
"Another, Wings-like, new song, ‘Who Cares’, summed up McCartney’s universal appeal: it’s about bullying, he said, “I wrote this thinking about kids at school who get bullied, but I think we all experience a bit of that.” The lyrics run: “Who cares what the idiots say/Who cares about you?/I do” and it’s quintessential McCartney, that directness of speech and emotion. Simplicity and sincerity, even now."
Let s hope it s a good one-at least it s a topic that shouldn't p-s anyone of. But who knows

Certainly not as many times as he’s been “in the sky” if you know what I mean. ;);)

Good question. Let's just say that I wouldn't want his carbon footprint! Has to be close to 300 times I would bet. Maybe more.

Probably the reason why he doesn't drink anything during his shows!

It's a nice release, complete with inner sleeve.* I have the cd single as well.
A shame that we won't likely be getting such releases anymore.
Understandable that it's all download/ stream only nowadays, but still ...

    * Just had a look, not really an innersleeve, but some kind of card with Paul's picture on one side, and instructions to cut out some kind of strip on the other.

Just ordered both the deluxe cd with bonus tracks, and the deluxe lp edition.

I find this release scheme one of the most confusing of any Paul's releases.
Is the deluxe lp version both available on black and coloured vinyl?
And if I get the deluxe cd with the two bonus tracks, am I complete or are there more bonus tracks on another version?

Your memory matches mine. I didn't do iTunes back then, so I would have waited to see a physical release...

I Don't Know. In fact, Nobody Knows.
Only Mama Knows, so Your Mother Should Know!

But I seriously can't help. I've only preordered the Target version for now. I'm playing the waiting game for the rest because there's just too much to keep track of! I've got better things to do (like posting silly things on this forum) so it's back to work for me! :blah:

Yup. In my book [at that time] digital-only did not count.

And your Rolling Stone review lists both DT and EPP, so....

I wouldn't mind having a 5" of EPP... no, wait... I guess I would rather just have Live in Los Angeles.... :agree:

From a Lover To a Friend was an odd choice for first single -
better choices: Your Loving Flame, Lonely Road, Driving Rain

I just did a search for the word "page" in this thread and there were 600 results! If we ignore any talk about Jimmy Page, that leaves us with approximately 599 posts about the ungodly amount of pages! :uhhuh:

None of my posts are worthy of inclusion. :D

But, to get back on the tracks: the train will be leaving (escaping?) Egypt Station in just 38 days! :goodie:

Your Loving Flame certainly seems like it would have been a more conventional choice for the first taste.

I don't really think Lonely Road or Driving Rain were good single choices. But what do I know...? I like Spinning On An Axis and She's Given Up Talking. :hide:
