They're probably dusting off "Hope of Deliverance" right now in anticipation. :)

Fans crying after buying their tickets:

One of them said he has been waiting for this concert for 52 years.

I suspect that none of the folks kissing their tickets or crying will be unhappy with the set list. :)

I took this picture at the airport. The concert is being advertised everywhere, it's the biggest event the city has ever seen.

The aussies dont know how lucky they are ...mccartney has long since been decent vocally on a live stage and the stones havent sounded good in decades

This is true but the Stones have done big business here. Paul's voice isn't a patch on what it used to be and I've been very vocal about that (no pun intended) but compared to Dylan's ravaged vocal cords McCartney sounds like a choirboy!

I actually don't expect Paul to play in Oz again. Every six to twelve months I hear it on good authority that promoters try and get a deal done but nothing eventuates. Just not meant to be I suppose. Glad I caught him in 08 in Liverpool, 09 in Vegas and 2010 in San Francisco but no more overseas trips for me I'm afraid.

But at least dylan no matter how bad his voice tours in a more modest less global franchise kind of way.Macca and the stones are still covering the globe like a huge corporate rollercoaster...kind of sad really especially when you clearly dont sound good anymore...I would love mccartney to just tour the way dylan does...small gigs no razz, instictive changing set lists.

Absolutely! I saw Paul at The Joint in Vegas, which holds around 4,500. Fantastic show and not a bad seat in the house. Also caught the Stones in Melbourne in 02 in a 15,000 seat arena and they were on fire. None of that cartoonish stadium malarkey.

... but not ignoring his audience like Dylan does.

A TV channel asked fans to send videos explaining what they would say to Paul if they could meet him, and forwarded the videos to his staff. Paul himself selected six of those fans, who will watch the soundcheck and meet him backstage before the concert. These and other stories are in today's newspapers:

Looks like Paul did a 90-minute "surprise" gig for a Financial Investment firm (Baron Funds) this past Friday (11/7) at the Met Opera in Lincoln Center in NYC. Not much info but Paul likely pocketed a few million for this. No wonder he has been giving away those freebie downloads to go along with the Venus & Mars Archive reissue:

At least Paul says "hello" and "thanks", in between those admittedly tired story clichés.

Did you get to ask them about any setlist changes? LOL.
