No, bought the most of them in Tokyo HMV and Tower Records....and four of them through Discogs (The Wall, Animals, WYWH, DOTM)
Newscot - I would like to thank you for this link . I have just bought the RSD Piper from JG Windows. I think I my have got the last one as the guy on the phone looked on the system and said he would have to go and look as he wanted to be sure it was the right album. It took him an age to confirm that they had one in stock and it will be with me on Monday so well pleased and thank you again.
Maybe, maybe not. We don't know. Also, a 3-LP set of Is There Anybody Out There: The Wall Live would be great.
There's no need to buy A Collection of Great Dance Songs either. You have all the songs already if you have the studio albums. It would be great, yes, but it won't happen. Even the cd set is discontinued.
But it contains a hybrid mix of the single and album version of 'Another Brick In The Wall, Part 2'. It's the 8-bar intro which is unique in the 7'' single and this compilation. Well, yes... for collector's completion only.^^ Maybe a good reason for a CD and vinyl reissue in the future!^^ Who knows if there's a Wall anniversary box set coming out next year...
Some of Pink Floyd's best songs are missing, yes, but their most popular songs are all there. Which, after all, is the point of a best of-album. Actually, I'm quite surprised they included Have a Cigar (not on the Echoes compilation), which is one of my favourite songs by the band!
Not true........A Collection Of Great Dance Songs has it's own personality. In fact, Money had to be re- recorded for this album.
A Foot in the Door is the most pointless release in the history of the Floyd and the thought that this is all we're getting for the festive season baffles me. It will also be the only vinyl reissue I'm not buying. I can't understand how the hell we're approaching the end of September and still haven't heard about an Animals Super Deluxe and/or a Live At Pompeii Super Deluxe / definitive vinyl and Blu Ray release.
