I haven't heard the reissue........I have an orginal US that sounds incredible. Have you compared the two?
I'm a big Ummagumma fan. Reissue live album is an improvement on original US Harvest. More clarity and detail. Studio album is about the same but good to have a clean copy!
Pompeii is already out on 4LP and several cd/bluray/dvd packages. A stunning version of The Great Gig in the Sky, by the way. A tribute to Wright, I believe.
A vinyl release of Pink Floyd's Live at Pompeii is highly doubtful, since it's not actually an audio album, just a video release. A bluray would be terrific, though.
Indeed, I would have expected them to officially release it on vinyl long, long time ago. Maybe it won't be released at all and no wonder, it didn't stop some unofficial pressings (plenty of them actually) to be sold around the world. There was supposed to be restored edition, perhaps bluray to be released but Im not sure what happened to the project, it's talked here: Restored Pink Floyd at Pompeii and new Adrian Maben Floyd documentary at Montreal Film Festival
Still about PF Pompeii: I have 2-dvd (2007?, I think), cd and dvd/bluray from the 2016 ”The Early Years”-boxset. Plus I guess I have some other edits dvd aswell. But definitely the movie could be released with better quality and restored with greatest care.
Yes, an audio release (cd) actually exists in the Early Years box, come to think of it. So I stand corrected.
Yes you can and I will say again how pleased I am with it too, great set happy I picked it up worth every penny IMO.
A quiet splendor indeed. Beautiful remaster. Everything stands out beautiful sound stage. This album needed it especially on vinyl. IMHO
Great to hear still have not picked it up yet but it is on my list and I will let you know what I think.
