It absolutely is. Mid-to-late. I'm getting very excited about it! Which reminds me, I need to announce that soon!
Me too. Both the Bong Load and Plain vinyl releases sucked eggs. Likely 16 bit CD sourced on really noisy vinyl. AFAIK, both of those albums were recorded and mixed on tape and would really benefit from proper mastering. Also Ween's 12 Golden Country Greats, The Mollusk and White Pepper, which were similarly crapped upon by Plain Recordings.
I LOVE Ween! I half seen them live at LEAST a half dozen times. Maybe more. Please don't forget Chocolate and Cheese!
Well, might as well throw my $.02 in the hat. How about: ABC - The Lexicon of Love Prefab Sprout - Jordan: The Comeback <---- The original LP was very long and crammed onto two sides of vinyl, if I remember correctly. Could be a beautiful sounding 2LP set.
Especially, if you can do a better job on 'Disintegration', but it might be the case of the source material to work with was not great, and the 2010 version might be the best we can hope to get. We share the same period of favorite music of the 1980s and 1990s, although for the 1990s, outside a few music artists from the US(NIN, Afghan Whigs, Chili Peppers, Dandy Warhols, TOOL, the Eels, Beck, Ben Folds Five and maybe a few others) 90% of my CDs were bought by Music Arists from the UK, so not sure what your 1990s interest are, but since I missed the boat on Vinyl from that decade(just getting into it), I missed out on the Suede Vinyl Box Set, but did buy 'Dog Man Star' when placing an order earlier this year with Amazon-UK, I have a few albums and Artists larger part of their catalog that I would love to get a great Mastering/Pressing on a Vinly Re-release. If the recent BLUR Vinly Box Set is no longer in print and too expensive, then would be high on my list as I bought the '21' CD Box Set, which had the large amount of Bonus Songs on another extra 11 CDs, but realize the Vinyl Box Set was just the albums. I did buy 'Sleeping with Ghosts' by Placebo that has Blue Vinyl, but their ST debut in Red or Black Vinyl might be out of print, but not sure yet what I have with quality since not getting my TT until the end of this year, but figured it was pressed in the EU, so worth a chance and it is my favorite album cover of all time, so just to own the Vinyl to have a large artwork on the cover than the CD, I had to buy it, but I would also like to get 'Without You, I'm Nothing'(in the Yellow or Black). So not sure if you could improve on the current Placebo Re-Releases. The Holy Bible- Manic Street Preachers 4 albums by PULP from the 1990s/early 2000s Entire Spiritualized Catalog including both 'Complete Works' Entire Gene Catalog, but especially 'Olympian' Attack of the Gray Lantern and Six-Mansun Most of the albums from James including their very good albums released since 1999-2016 The Stone Roses(actually was a 1989 release) Loveless-My Bloody Valentine Young Team and Come On Die Young-Mogwai Word Gets Around & Performance and Cocktails-Stereophonics
They are one of the best live bands I've ever seen. The Schnitzel Records release of C&C was really good, but it's OOP. The Mollusk is an incredible album.
Some fun stuff from the late 70's and 80's: The classic Rockpile stuff (which might take some doing since its three artists and three labels): Rockpile - Seconds of Pleasure Nick Lowe - Labour of Lust (uk version) Dave Edmunds - Repeat When Necessary and Tracks on Wax Lesser known Marshall Crenshaw titles -- Field Day and Mary Jean and Nine Others, although a definitive take on his ST would be awesome. Los Lobos -- How Will the Wolf Survive, By the Light of the Moon, Neighborhood, Kiko, Colossal Head. Someone mentioned The Smithereens Especially for You The Smiths Meat is Murder, Queen is Dead and Louder Than Bombs Naked Eyes ST (can't seem to find this anywhere) Violent Femmes ST X Los Angeles, Wild Gift, More Fun in the New World I'm living out of boxes right now, but I cannot WAIT to get the three JJ titles once my TT is set up again.
I think essentially their whole cataloge is being reissued already, any day now, according to Elusive Disc or Soundstage Direct...it was in their latest email of upcoming releases. Not sure if you want it on vinyl...should have clarified these are coming on vinyl...don't know anything about SACD.
Since no one said anything...Chris Bell was in Big Star and "I Am The Cosmos" was his lone solo album that never saw a release during his short lifetime as he was tragically killed. Kim and Kelly Deal covered "You And Your Sister" on one of the This Mortal Coil albums.
Or how about The Church Of Skins and Heart The Blurred Crusade Seance Heyday and the three Aussie EPs: Sing-Songs Remote Luxury Persia They had horribly compressed cd reissues a few years back. Awful. No LP reissues that I'm aware of.
I would like all 4 DOVES albums on vinyl, as they are my favorite music artist since 2000. I hope they reunite in the near future, as something was missing in both Goodwin's solo album and the Black Rivers(Williams Bothers) album, as both had some very good songs, but I find myself listening to 'Kingdom of Rust' more in the past year. My favorite song by DOVES is 'One of These Days', and the band did not think that it should have been on their 2-CD 'Best of-The Places Between' for some reason.
Beck - Mellow Gold , Mutations, Midnight Vultures...instant sell out Fiona Apple - Tidal AIC- mentioned above, and Facelift Lenny Kravitz- First three albums Tom Waits- Black Rider, 90s Waits impossible to get Soundgarden - Louder Than Love PJ Harvey - Anything by her, besides the most recent in print. You want to sell some LPs this would be a good choice! Clutch - Self Titled, and Transnational Speedway League. Janes Addiction - Ritual
