New Rega Brio for 2017

Pure speculation on my part, but I doubt we see the new Brio come in under the price of the Brio-R....so I'm guessing it will be around $1095 or $1195 retail.

 

Did you take delivery of it yet?

 

How have they managed to turn an awesome slab of brutalist minimalism into something that looks like an ugly car?

 

I don't mind the looks at all. Still looks like fine, minimalist kit to me. Just happy for fully made in the U.K. gear that's not costing an arm and a leg.

Just unboxed one today....not had a chance a hook it up yet (trying to get caught up from Christmas/New Years sales, etc).

It does have a built in head phone amp which is kind of cool.

Sorry....but not just yet. Been in the middle of a location move and wrapping up sales from Christmas/New Years, and I've just not had a chance to really take time with one yet. Initial impressions are very, very good however.

 

I have the Brio-R. I don't like the look of the new design and to me it's not an improvement. I find the volume knob somewhat quirky and ugly. It doesn't look very Rega to me.

Great amp though. I've always been very happy with mine and want to upgrade to the Elicit-R at some point.

 

Does it have the famous Rega Brio buzz?

 

I like the looks but that's an uncanny resemblance!
