  1. New reissue of Bad Boy is a Gatefold. The original was not. The info and picture inside the gatefold was originally on the inner sleeve. The new issue has an extra image Slick of the back cover photo

Thanks for the pics. I take it you didn't go for the Blue vinyl one?

Couldn't agree more. The Hudson (over)produced albums sound like Hudson's personal Beatle fantasy trips. He tries to make most songs sound like "Octopus's Garden" and has mentioned modeling several songs after specific Beatles (and John Lennon) songs. Blech! And then there's the songwriting-by-committee with six writers on every track. Double blech!

Ringo producing himself with one co-writer per track sounds good and has produced a higher percentage of decent songs per album.

One of my three favorite Ringo albums, along with Rotogravure and Ringo.

My father's paternal grandfather's brother's son is featured on the cover.

Uhh yeah. There have been plenty of albums released multiple times by one hit wonders that must have smaller fan bases then a Beatle. So it's about time and hopefully they get a cd remaster sometime. The music is pretty damn good too :D

I think I speak for most of us when I say they're not getting my money until they release Ringo the 4th on vinyl.

I own only the first four Ringo albums of which these two are numbers three and four. Do I listen to them every week? No. Do I listen to any album every week? Again, no. But if you're a Beatles fan in particular, these two are worth having as being a part of the wave of solo Beatle albums during which time they really mattered and people looked forward to each subsequent release.

  17. Well these are his two best albums. Very listenable and nothing cringe worthy. That would come very soon in his solo career.

I would love a "Apple Years" boxset of Ringo albums.

yes but the original Cd's & Vinyl that I have sound brilliant so no need for a remaster what will be achieved apart from people buying something they do not need, a comprehensive greatest hits is all that is needed as a new release IMO, just a reissue is needed not a remaster if they want to try and shift some more copies, I am sorry but Beatle or no Beatles Ringo is not 'up there' with other legacy acts !!

    It should. But will it?

  22. Remember not everyone has old original pressings. There's a new market for new vinyl buyers in addition for some of us who might want to to update copies. I love that some of these records are coming back in print. At least for a short time.

I recently got my turntable back online after over 20 years. The first record that I spun was "Ringo".

Well, the last cd issues of these albums are from what, '95 or earlier? I'm sure if they were to re-release these albums on cd they would take advantage of current technology and remaster the albums as well. And obviously I would love any bonus tracks and outtakes to be included as well-that's how you get people to buy another copy. As for Ringo not being "up there" with other legacy acts- well to each his own (I mean he's only one of the most famous and beloved drummers ever who still tours constantly based on his "legacy"- like most legacy acts) But why should that exclude it from having a nice proper rerelease after nearly 45 years, with potentially better sound and bonus tracks when nearly every big album from that era has been milked dry and rereleased countless times ?
