It's called Is This the Life We Really Want?

There's a promo video on his facebook page that went up 5 minutes ago! No other details that I could find yet.

I'm also looking forward to it but I can't see it being a party-time favourite...

Maybe, on the front cover it says, "Is this the life we really want?..."

And on the back, it says, "Yes. Yes it is!"

Jeez, talk about a wait. I was in high school when "Amused to Death" came out. Now I'm 40 and probably too old to care!

I am at a point where I do not see myself finding Waters's social/political rants and commentary very interesting, assuming that is what this upcoming album consists of.

I mean, he spent fifteen years using his records to work through Syd Barrett, his daddy issues, and how much of a drag it is to be famous, and now it's this. Roger can't record without using his music to explore some other, barely concealed subplot.

My god. I can't believe it! Waters finally releasing an album in my lifetime! It's completely unbelievable. Pinch me someone.

I find it really amusing to read about not wanting to hear what Roger has to say... We love Pink Floyd and their music BECAUSE of the VERY overt socially relevant lyrics in addition to the musicianship. But when what he has to say challenges your preconceived notions and beliefs, well then, you prattle on about being tired of the very thing you love... Now, if you take the tack that Amused to Death and his solo records are very hit and miss, that's a hard argument to debunk. The same can be said of David Gilmour's as well...I always felt that as Nick Mason once lamented, the Sum is greater than its parts.

Exactly this. It's not like this is new--this is just the latest permutation. I'm liking the sound on this teaser, but I have a feeling this will be a record I listen to once and move on with my life.

Shouldn't he know by now if it's the life he really wants? :agree:

I can already hear his semi spoken clipped musings...
