Rogue Audio is proud to announce the new RP-1 preamplifier. Elegantly simple yet technically sophisticated, the RP-1 is based on our highly successful RP-X platform. Boasting terrific specs and fully featured, the RP-1 is the new benchmark for an entry level tube preamplifier. Along with the musical and accurate sound you expect from a Rogue Audio preamplifier, the RP-1 boasts an impressive list of features:
    • Multi function remote that controls volume, source, balance and mute
    • 45/60 dB MM/MC phono with adjustable loading
    • 1W Headphone amplifier
    • OLED display with on/off
    • Four line level inputs
    • Two pairs Preamp outs
    • One pair fixed outs
    • Home theater bypass
    • 5Hz-75KHz +/- 1 dB
    • 15.25” W x 14.5” D x 3.2” High
    • $1695

Nice! I wonder if it has the same phono section from the CMII.

Yes, that is a big question.

And what's the difference sound wise between this and a Perseus?

It would be nice if the display was dimable instead of just 'too bright' or 'off'.

    Nice styling, that's for sure.

So - input selection only on remote?

Hey, the remote has more than two buttons! That's a big move from Rogue. Although it doesn't look like you could drive nails or break windows or some of the other side jobs the old remote could handle!

    What tubes are in it?

I think the are 12AU7. Most of the Rogue stuff I've seen use JJ for their small signal tubes.

wow- not even on the rogue web site yet.
i'm guessing that input selection is by remote only? which is a bit of a bummer.

Love Rogue had the 99 preamp years ago before I went to Modwright. Still have a wonderful set of M-150 MBs. Great company with great support

It looks that way. I just got a UPS delivery of the RP5... That seems to have everything selectable from the front panel.

This looks like a real nice preamp. I had the Perseus for awhile so I'd also be curious as to how it would compare to the RP-1.

Just unpacked the Rp5. What a beast. In silver it is just a knockout.

Mark O. from Rogue was just here in New Orleans last weekend promoting some of the new line they have, some of the new stuff is impressive for sure. As always Mark is all about sound quality, I still have a 99 pre that has a couple really nice mods done to it. So I doubt I will be changing but, I did like some of what I heard... Wilson Audio here in New Orleans has the complete line and is a dealer for Rogue!!!

I will compare it to the Perseus when I receive it. It looks to have a similar phono section, probably somewhere between the Metis and the Perseus in terms of both flexibility and sound. It adds a headphone amp and more remote functions to what the Perseus has on offer already. If the sound of the RP5 is any indication, the RP1 should be very nice sounding and offer tremendous value considering its price and feature set.

The price is certainly very reasonable for an American built preamp ...

The RP1 is beginning its appearance on the Rogue Audio site now. It is in the new products section and should be included in the main preamp section in a week or so.

My first two days with the RP-5 have been very rewarding. Reserving full judgement until 100 hours.

The rest of the system is a Bryston BDP-2 server, Revox A77 reel deck, iFi Micro iDSD DAC, simaudio 760A power amp,
    andd ZenWave cables.

    Nice.
How would you say it served out of the box? I like a neutral setting with enough extension to fill my room.
