Maybe he quotes it at some point or uses some of the lyrics.

Very intriguing list of co-writers and I'm glad to see Randy Goodrum's name again!

Dan Wilson has a pretty impressive list of credits including Adele's Someone Like You.

Strangely I can no longer find the album on Amazon. Not sure what's up with that.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the cover. That's his whole life on there, and I guess that's what we're going to get on the album too. Fantastic!

Oh, and he is apparently also giving a couple of radio interviews tomorrow, including Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM.

It will be interesting to hear what Trunk or anyone else gets out of Steve. It will not be surprising if his attorney provides the interviewers with pre-selected questions as well as a list of off-topic questions. But who knows, maybe we will all be pleasantly surprised and Perry will be very open. In fairness to Steve, no one can blame him if he does not want to talk too much about Journey, after all, he has not released any new music since 1996, with his last solo album dating back to 1994. The focus should be on his return, his new material, and where he sees the direction of his career.

If Perry's album is successful I hope he records a new album with Journey. Even if he didn't tour with them. I would take a few new tracks with Perry with Journey it doesn't have to be a whole album.

I think the Journey ship has sailed. That said, I would not mind seeing Perry and Schon collaborate on something outside of Journey.

I'm quite excited about the prospect of a new album, even if we'll just get a hint of his old form. For those who'd like to be reminded of Steve's prime, here's a nice vocal range compilation. He truly was one of the all-time greats:

Love Steve's voice on this smooth tune.

Steve will never reach these highs again 1983--1984 but I hope he comes close on his new album 2018.

Another great vocal performance from his last solo album. His voice soars:

Always loved this fantastic, lost Steve Perry collaboration with Dick Wagner circa 1993. It is hard to believe this never made "For The Love Of Strange Medicine":

That is cool. Never heard that one.

I wonder who has the larger cache of unreleased material, Steve or Axl?

    Amazingly, it could be Perry.

Sounds like 'Raised on Radio' era Journey with a bit more rasp to his voice. I like it.

I never thought I'd ever hear new Steve Perry material again. Still hard to believe, but I like what I'm hearing so far!

Sounds less like RoR and more like Trial By Fire and For the Love of Strange Med with regard to production, which I wasn't a fan of at all. Especially after the brilliant production of both Street Talk and RoR. That said, last thing I'll do after waiting 25 years for anything new from Steve, is finally get a full album worth of material and bitch about the production. Especially hearing a small snippet of one song. Through my PC no less!! But how SteveHoffmanForums is that?!? :)

That song might be a massive ball of cheese, but damn it if Perry's voice doesn't make it highly enjoyable.
