My subwoofer, it seems, has bitten the dust. My old Velodyne with an 8-inch driver only puts out a horrible electronic-sounding low-frequency scraping sound.

I need to keep this below 500 bucks, so I'm looking at the SVS PB10-ISD.

I like the fact that it doesn't have anything I don't need (crossover, volume control, speaker-level inputs) so I figure the money has gone into the driver, box, and amp. SVS certainly has a good reputation at lower price points (along with Hsu). My old sub only went down to 35 Hz (thus hardly a subwoofer) so this should be a nice step up for me.

My room is 13 x 22 feet, and I tend to listen at lower levels. I do not use a sub for stereo music in my tube system. See my profile for other equipment.

    Has anyone heard this?

I haven't heard that sub, but I do have a SVS PC 20-39 Plus that I'm still tickled over a year and a half after aquiring it. Thumbs up to SVS for their great products.
