On the Warner site that McCool posted. They show all the versions, prices and release dates.

    I concur Lee, where's the vinyl ?
Exactly what I have been looking for.. a great full career proper LP box set.
Really done right to honor Tom and his fans.

I'm tempted to NOT look at the tracklisting and just put this mother on on release day. From what little I read, this looks like an amazing release that I suppose must've been in the pipeline prior to Petty's untimely death.

Looks like some good new stuff. But why put regular album versions of songs on there at all? This is squarely for Petty hardcore fans, it doesn't work as any sort of compilation or best of box set.

  6. It’s a go-tee with some other facial hair and taken from a Mark Seliger photograph. But yes he’s had full beards several times.

Why? Its not dishonest. If they called alternate versions "unreleased songs" THAT would be dishonest/misleading

Interesting tracklist. A bit all over the place, with a lot of album versions. But I’m sure it’ll all sound fantastic, and there’s no way I ain’t buyin! In Petty I trust.

Very excited to hear ‘Lost In Your Eyes’ from the earliest Mudcrutch sessions, as well as all the outtakes from Southern Accents!

I'm glad they are keeping with the usual Petty quality.

Okay, I take back my earlier statement. The press release made it sound like it was all previously unreleased tracks/takes. That's disappointing.

Why can I not click on an option, without it going 404 on me ????

I did a search using TOM PETTY, but it's a page showing all the options, plus other Petty releases.

I'm all over the place with my opinion on this:

The thread title made me think "boring and predictable"

Then the original post stressing lots of unreleased tracks put my hopes back up.

Then seeing the number of songs I thought "Wow 3CDs worth of material stretched out over 4CDs" Rip-off

Then I read the details of the tracklist which raised by hopes again since there's some really interesting items listed.

Then I noticed how many regular album tracks are included - not to mention how many non-album inclusions seem to be available on other releases, so arent really much of an incentive to purchase this. So I'm guessing there's like *maybe* one full CD's worth of exclusive (prev unrel and prev released but OOP) material on this box.

    Meh...

May not be perfect, but perfectly great for me! I hope there is vinyl, and all involved continue Tom's respect for natural.dynamic range.

I'm in to buy this, no doubt. Been in a huge Petty mood lately. I miss him a lot. I am bummed that this big announcement wasn't the "Wildflowers" box we had all hoped for, but ill take it! got my fingers crossed for a vinyl set.

Yeah, but it looks like an extra $103 + for stuff I'll never look at a second time, so the 4 disc in the Moondance-style book should hold me.

It's a bit strange that about a third of this is already released, but whatever. I'm in.
