"Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' October 16th performance in Los Angeles will be released in a CD/DVD package as Live at the Olympic: The Last DJ and More on July 22nd.
Petty and Co. performed their 2002 release, the twelve-song The Last DJ, in its entirety for the show at the Grand Olympic Auditorium, along with hits and a handful of covers, including Chuck Berry's "Around and Around" and the Champs' "Tequila." The set list was similar to the previous night's show (also at the Grand Olympic Auditorium), which was filmed and aired on pay-per-view in December. The Live at the Olympic DVD will include the entirety of the band's performance, while a few tracks will be cut for the CD.

In other Petty news, the band is gearing up for another round of tour dates behind DJ. The summer stretch will open on June 26th in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and runs through August 30th in Aspen, Colorado. Mavis Staples will open almost all dates, with Bo Diddley warming things up on June 28th in Milwaukee and August 16th in Nashville"

Sounds like a winner to me. I hope they reconsider dropping some tracks from the live album. I'd like to hear the complete concert.
