They sound just like the SHM-SACD’s. I would not buy these unless you have a chance to look at it before purchase. If the outer PVC sleeve is wavy or uneven in any way (the sleeve should be completely flat), I would not buy it, as the plasticizer has probably begun leaching from the PVC.

You forgot the Clarity vinyl. Pressed on a manual press. And a Certificate Of Authenticity. :)

I ordered the Stereo version. This will probably sell out, so I might as well bite the bullet now. I have the Experience version, so it should be an interesting shoot out. Some of the Acoustic Sounds 45rpm discs have been spectacular (for example, Tea for the Tillerman); it will be interesting to see whether they can achieve similar results with 33.3rpm.

Spoke to Nate from Acoustic Sounds last week as I was ordering a great find that just posted on their vault of the first European pressing of Big Star's #1 Record and Radio City vinyl and asked him about the Axis mono version and he said that they had just approved the master and were going to press, so at least progress is happening.

Any specific reason these are 33 vs 45?

You and I once met through a "Product is no longer available" notice.

I’m sure it’ll get a release in a few years in 45rpm too. I’d bet it’s been cut at 45 too.

Don't tell me you were going after the Big Star as well? (had to ask, not trying to deviate from the thread)

I wouldn't say going after it but I saw it on their page with the out of stock notice before they took it down. Good price!

Got it a couple days a go and cover is mint minus and vinyl mint, got lucky and very nice sound as this version was remastered at Abbey Road Studios...agreed, nice price, especially coming from them.

Can't wait for the Hendrix mono, hope it does not disappoint.

Any word for a fixed release date as yet? It is getting mighty close to "late summer" which is the stated release "date" so expectations are now high for the delivery date!

Outside of this comment "The Axis UHQR cut is amazing — full bodied, detailed, powerful and engaging. Very impressive. The best pressing of the record I have ever heard." — Bill Levenson, Grammy Award-winning reissue producer. We have no other word as to how it sounds, it would have been great if we could have had an independent pre release review as we waited on the release.
