alexpop Power pop + other bad habits....

He should go the whole hog and brand all his new releases Cat Stevens, his new adopted name has a bad cache( selling wise).

"Cat Stevens" was a stage name anyway. Since he wasn't using his legal name then, why did he switch?
It would be like Declan MacManus discarding the name (and valuable brand) of Elvis Costello, changed his legal name, and starting using a shortened version of that. Bewildering.

I think the new song is fantastic. It really sounds like 70's Cat Stevens. I love the riff. Infectious.

I like his darker side ("Trouble") - this one is a bit too "up with people" for me. But I look forward to his upcoming album nonetheless.

I really like the new version of that song.

Here's another song that's a bit dark..from the early days, a sadly beautiful expression of longing.

Eerie listening to this. Like it's a missing Cat Stevens album from 197o.

Couldn't wait so i listened to it on Deezer this morning while commuting.
It is a very good album, beautiful songs, laid-down. As usual the lyrics are quite "politically correct".

I'll spin the vinyl tonight or tomorrow to compare the sound vs streaming.

Brought tears to my eyes. Affirms that there is still beautiful music to be composed, if the composer looks hard enough and in the right places.

The most amazing return to form album by anyone. It's like stepping into a time machine and going back to 1970.

    Currently spinning it.

First, the packaging is really good !
    The cover is high quality.
A booklet is attached to the inner fold with credits and lyrics. The disc comes in some kind of light cardboard sleeve, must be recycled material, not sure this is scratch-safe.
The cover does not have cat stevens written on it but the label does.

The disc is flat and so far (song 2) there is no pops or click.

The voice on song 1 is really forward, everything is smooth and the instruments are clear. The guitar and drum attacks are alive.

I am impressed with the quality so far.
You definitely can crank this one up.
