I placed an order with Newbury (not my first time) during their 30% off sale. The email I got with the order total shows CA state tax. I had never noticed the tax before.

So glad NC is local to me. I preordered an LP a couple years ago through NC. It arrived bouncing around inside a cheesy mailer. Seam split on the spine and top, bent corner as well. I told myself never again. I was worried if it sold out online, they would not be available in store, but that's not the case.

Also, when I tried to return it in the store, they told me online purchases can only be returned online. When I tried to return it online, it was sold out. WTF.
I needed to just walking into another NC and exchanging it for a perfect copy, without the receipt.

Yeah, for us locals, we are better off buying in store. So tempted to stop by after work and go into the Newbury street store. Parking is pretty dodgy though.

I got a notice it was shipped today. Nice to see they don't announce things until they're ready to sell them.

I also received my shipping notice today for the Hendrix EL set.

My order from the 30% off sale arrived today too: Hendrix ABAL, Television Marquee Moon, Sonny Rollins Tenor Madness, Blind Joe Death.

I have to say, these are some nice records, regardless of what you might think of the whole colored vinyl thing.

Kudos to Newbury, especially the 30% off sale!

I must say, I've never had any issues with the quality of NCs releases. Most sound great.

Their limited edition colored vinyl releases are always more expensive that the standard releases. But, usually worth it for the uniqueness and collectibility aspect. I find it's usually best to snap them up within the first couple of weeks of release, because they often tend to raise the prices on them even more after that.

Anyone have problems with their packaging? I just received a few lps from the 30% off sale and all were crushed in the same area.

Yes, I mentioned their shipping practices a few days ago in this thread.

I've ordered from them around 3 or 4 times and all the shipments have gotten here in good shape.

Do you know if the colored vinyl of Graceland from Newbury Comics is the recent remaster that is really good sounding?

The pressing is really quiet and flat. It sounds like the other 2010 Legacy releases. I like it! What do you think?

My copy arrived today. Sounds great. It is #1469. If they are selling them in consecutive order, they must be going pretty fast..

Is it too much to ask that the color of colored vinyl bear SOME relation to the design of the packaging in general? Snuggle Bear blue for Electric Ladyland, why?

Sounds really good, similar to the 200 gram NC AYE record.
I have enjoyed it quite a bit. Wish they did the other album cover though.

That is a VPI Prime, with TTweights periphery ring and center weight.

It's decent. It was quiet and flat for me. United pressing oddly enough. SQ is average nothing to shout about, but it's not bad. It's more about the content for me.

Apparently they're not selling them in consecutive order. Just today I received #587 from Newbury (online order).

Yup, it sounds great. Sounds exactly like the 2010 black vinyl version to me. I'll likely sell my black one.
