Am I the only one here who had a thing for Maura Tierney?

Beautiful woman but I didn’t think much of her. Plus when I see her in movies I feel as though she’s betraying the show. Lol

Before your time here, I think I had various Maura Tierney avatars for about three years straight.

Since I'm on a roll, one of my favorite bits from the four-episode arc of greatness that was Lauren Graham in NewsRadio:

I did this past Christmas. I will say I’m bummed mine didn’t come with the commentaries like I was hoping , but the show itself makes up for that.

I only have seasons 1&2 and there’s commentary. The complete box doesn’t?

The SONY complete series box had commentaries. The more recent Mill Creek edition doesn't, I'm guessing

I’d have to agree. I mean, i know the wife would come on the set and start s***, but Phil himself was easily one of the most stable people otherwise. He was The Glue after all.

My all-time favorite sitcom. I still call DB Cooper "Doobie Keebler" because of it. :)

One of the cleverest sitcoms of its time, IMO. It made the most of the by-then-shopworn "workplace as family" premise. The cast was beyond talented and the writing was sharp. But I do agree that losing Hartman was the beginning of the end.

Still works. Even if you don't get the references, questions like "Are you Doobie Keebler?" are timeless.

Other than Bill Moves On, which was the first episode I saw after reading about it on Phil’s wikia page, I’m not really a huge fan of Season Five. I don’t really pin it all on Phil’s death, and in Lovitz’s defense, Max Lewis was a poorly written character, he was given essentially nothing (and plus, his two guest spots were awesome, especially in Fiftieth Episode). Overall, bad writing hurt the fifth season-Paul Simms was barely there, and the writing felt frankly half assed a lot of times.

There were a few bad episodes mid-season like "Stinkbutt" and "Boston" (the one where Max inadvertently causes Lisa to revert to an annoying Boston accent), but I think it's a pretty solid season on either side. "Flowers for Matthew", the one where Joe makes Matthew a smart drink, is great (you can call me Smimmy), as were all five episodes with Patrick Warburton.

Though I still think Lisa should've wound up with Dave at the end instead of marrying Warburton's Johnny Johnson. IIRC, Paul Simms said in a commentary that's what would've happened had he been around more in S5 to oversee things.
