I just got the US Vertigo of Fighting and it rules! If they come out with a deluxe I will compare.

  2. Picked this up today and although I have only given it a quick spin, so far I am very happy with my purchase.
Haven't gotten to the bonus tracks yet but will dig into those tomorow morning.

Am pretty curious as to what would have been on a 2 disc edition...

ALSO: talk of an upcoming BBC boxed set makes me have to ask, will this make the BBC bonus material on the DE series redundant?

  3. Anyone?

I assume these sessions were recorded as a three-piece, with Brian Roberston absent and before Gary Moore officially joined. It sounds to my ears like Scott Gorham playing all the guitar parts anyway. It mentions in the Chinatown booklet liner notes that Kit Woolven produced some early BR sessions whch were later scrapped by Tony Visconti, so it may have been these sessions Woolven was referring to?
I agree, more information regarding the bonus tracks should have been included in the liner notes. Some of the bonus tracks don't even have composer credits!!

6 CDs + DVD? Woohoo, I'm in! :goodie:
Even taking into account the overlap with the recent deluxe editions, this nifty little box should include a ton of good stuff...

Simple, these albums sold more and are more well known than the others.
Bad Reputation yielded a minor his in "Dancing In The Moonlight".

    Released November 7th.
This release is collated from all of the BBC owned Lizzy recordings that still exist in the archive and charts the inexorable rise of the band: from the first steps as a three piece on the Decca label, to this incredible archive represents a great set of previously unreleased recordings in the Lizzy catalogue. The collection has been brought together by trawling the BBC archives, but also by inviting contributions from fans. The BBC had a habit of wiping tapes after they were broadcast which has meant that some of the Corporation’s output has been lost for ever. However thanks to fans

This collection brings together a raft of sessions and live recordings form through out the band’s career. Included also is a DVD of the bands sought after appearances on Top of the Pops and the Old Grey Whistle Test a well as concerts from throughout the band’s career. This is a first for the band as these recordings have never been available in one place before. With comprehensive notes by Classic Rock’s Malcolm Dome who tells the story of the bands history at the BBC.recording broadcasts at home a couple of gems have been reclaimed here for this set.the glory days as one of the greatest live acts of all time. The BBC gave the band a platform and support at crucial stages in their career and thus “Thin Lizzy Live At The BBC” could be seen essentially as an alternate Greatest Hits, a musical growing up in public.BBC are celebrated on “Thin Lizzy Live At The BBC”. The release will be available as a 2CD ‘best of’ collection and a limited edition collectors’ 6 CD and 1 DVD complete set.

Its a bit shame as theres some BBC-stuff already on the released deluxe-editions and etc, but its good to have one solid boxset of these. Gonna be really busy winter,as theres already been (and will be more) of good releases.
Im not even sure how much material Lizzy did for BBC...

I just had to put this on same pre-order as my PF Wish You Were Here Immersion-boxset. :D
As they are released on the same day.

Interesting to see that the set doesn't include '83 Reading Festival concert that was issued on CD in 1993, nor the performance of Rocky from Hammersmith Odeon '76 that featured on OGWT. Strange to see the Rainbow '78 set included on the DVD too.

I know someone working on the Thin Lizzy reissues. He told me that the reason Bad Reputation wasn't released as a Deluxe Edition is because they couldn't find enough material from the Bad Reputation sessions or other recording from that era (1977). All they really had were the BBC Sessions and a recording of Me And The Boys recorded at a sound check, before a gig I guess.
