I'm actually partial to the Spaceship label, particularly the version with the wide black border.

Agreed. The Spaceship label is much nicer. :D

Matador labels are ones that have really grown on me

Also Ardent, I always thought they looked dirty until I realised they were clouds. Now I quite like them.

As well the original Creation 45 labels are pretty interesting

How about Stiff, the worlds most flexible label? Always a favorite, around here.

It's ok to be lazy sometimes - I don't bother researching something online but will ask the question in a thread and hope to find the answer in the morning. When I'm too tired to bother at night, that is. Easier on my brain... :shh:

Which one is your favorite? I've seen a lot of different Stiff label designs, though honestly I can't recall any that I didn't like. This one might be my favorite. I've seen it more often on singles than LPs:

I also really like this one a lot:

    EDIT:
Oh wait, when you said "the world's most flexible label", did you mean the slogan or was that a reference to an actual design? I think I've seen one with the slogan on the label but can't clearly recall it.

I'm with you. I like just about all the Stiff label variations.
And I can't recall which release/releases had the great slogan "The Worlds Most Flexible Label" under the Stiff logo. It may have been on one of the many various artists comps Stiff did.

Oh for Chrissakes.... that "flexible" slogan was right there on the label I posted!

And you know what? I didn't even see it right away when YOU posted it. Those sneaky suckers sure made it blend into the label, didn't they?!

And I always liked the 'Electrically Recorded' slogan too. Always struck me as to be so obvious, that it was ridiculous.

This is actually a Portugese pressing by the way- wish I had one of these but I do have the same label on a copy of their 2nd album in my collection (called Absolutely.) I don't think that The Shape Of Things That Win really works, to be honest... Nice layout and colour though!

Just to check on this single I have... and yes, it has the logo in question that we were seeking.

As long as we're talking a bout a bunch of Stiffs. Anyone got a scan of the original Radar Records label, that looked like a radarscopes screen?

Linked from Discogs, this is the first I thought of... actually the b-side of Oliver's Army. Always did think this was a cool design!

I have thought that the 'writing' in the middle looks a little like it says Nick Lowe and this makes even more of a case for that...
Maybe it's not totally convincing but to the right of the spindle hole, it could be the letters Low..
