As an avid collector of 45s, I love looking through stacks of 45s, unsorted, just to find some great labels. I know when I see the Capitol swirl label that I will like the record, even if I have it already, because it's such a cool label. A rather obscure label from the 60s that I also like is the Joy label. They started in the late 50s up through the 60s.
Dullest labels are the Amy/Mala labels and some of the Bell labels. I have some Amy/Mala 45s where the labels cannot be read at all they are so bleached out and dull.

I love record labels. Anything that is colorful or detailed is usually exciting to me... But Apple Records is a personal favorite. I think I was sold on this as a kid because of the cut apple on the b side. I still love that for some reason.

But there are many other great labels posted in this thread... I have to that usually single colour labels with just plain black or white fonts are usually more boring, but sometimes the age or the label will make it exciting anyway.

I like both the swirl and the spaceship.
The last one is nicer with a headache. ;)

I really like the Joy label (that juggling clown logo is cool) also, I'll post an example:

I wonder if RCA Smiths Falls had something to do with this one. This was also released in Canada.

Sorry if this one is a repeat. I've always liked Rare Earth's Get Ready label:

Definitely. I can't stand them. Terrible decision by Columbia.

Joy often incorporated the pressing plant that turned out individual copies, into their cat. #'s. This one was made by Plastic Products of Memphis.

No, I think this one is from Rainbo of Los Angeles. Any 'R-####' numbers in the deadwax? The label type looks like an Alco Research & Engineering job.

Have to wonder if that layout influenced Columbia's 2-eye design down the road . . .

Also often had A and B list Nashville session musicians playing on these sessions. And folks who played on many a hit record on major labels.

There was also a Sun Records inspired Flying Nun label variant, but I can't find it anywhere.

    Electrically Recorded.
I don't think the label has any connection to the famous Peabody Hotel or their fabulous ducks.

Easy to not look at the logo, thinking we know what it says already.... :unhunh:

I honestly can’t tell if some of these are liked or disliked by the people posting them because they aren’t saying. I think that Peabody above is a ridiculous eyesore but I have a feeling that person likes it. Am I supposed to guess if you like it?

I like all of them, for different reasons. The Peabody one for the music (it was Sid Selvidge's label) and for the reference to the Peabody Hotel's ducks: Peabody Hotel - Wikipedia
It's a Memphis hotel and a Memphis label, so that kinda fits.
